I’m so grateful for my friend who supervises me on walks during these days so I don’t get stranded somewhere. I try to put my sunglasses on so people don’t recognize me (this does not work, btw) but it’s nice to have nice friends and to be able to take care of one another.

Rest day for the legs meant fighting tractor traffic, visiting Monforte d’Alba, Dogliani, Bra and Cherasco. Can’t wait to wake up and runs these hills before I head to Alba. Also, very thankful to the many of the Piedmontese who nicely tell me I’m driving the wrong way on a one way road. ♥️

I’m in heaven. Absolute heaven. The long run this morning was painfully beautiful, and the hills I climbed were killer. The wine was amazing. Can’t wait to wake up and do it all again. ♥️☺️🍷 Thankful for no cliffs nearby with the mild vertigo lingering, too. 😆😆😆 It’s the simple things.

There’s something wonderful about having a layover at a place with a cafe where you can just sit at a table and order a cappuccino without talking to a soul. I usually hate scanning a QRS, but this is my one exception after any flight that lasts over 8 hrs.

Hit up the Glendale Costco first thing this morning, and my favorite Costco activity is to FaceTime one of my bestfriends and show her all of the shit she isn’t there to buy with me. Me, holding my iPhone so it shows only my face and the warehouse rafters: “Hey Lana, how’s your morning going?”

One of my male colleagues (also an RN) recently discussed his wife’s traumatic childbirth experience and how she hemorrhaged afterwards, saying that it really hammered into him how dangerous childbirth/pregnancy is. He is an educated, kind man, and it took his wife almost dying for it to hit home.

When it rains in LA usually everyone collectives sighs in relief and says, "We needed this." When it's HOT AND HUMID and it RAINS IN LA, everyone says "Take that $h!t back to Florida." Hoping we get a little more rain out of this, so the trails will be greener for when I return from my vacation.

If you’re ever out and eating heavily spiced Moroccan food and wondering what kind of wine to pair with it, this Alamos Malbec was pretty damn good. Cut through the spice really well when it was too much for my friend, and with the exception of the mint-laced dishes, paired flawlessly.
