Omg I do that too... Gradient and tones are the best XDD

I overdid it and neglected exercise bc I'm having too much fun drawing my doujinshi. Now my back is in pain 😭 this never happened before. But taking this week to rest and stretch and hopefully come back stronger.

My fourth font for the @cartoonist.coop Letterer Challenge 2026! This prompt was "Horror", as if that wasn't obvious! It has lots of alternate characters! You can download it here: chaseburns.itch.io/scrawling-da... #font #openfontlicense #lettererchallenge2026

Made for the Cartoonists United Letterer Challenge 2026

another image displaying "Scrawling Darkly", a gritty comic book font.

Uses opentype ligatures to switch up side-by-side duplicate characters. Vowels have 4 alternates! Alts can also be picked manually, for variety.

Displaying this feature is a speech balloon that reads "Thiiisss iiisss hooow slowwlllyy I caaaaan taaallkk" and 4 "urgh!"s with different alternate letters.

Good for sound effects (Maybe even better than for dialogue…). Demonstrating this are stylized sound effects that reads "Splat", "Aaaiiieeee!!!", and "drip drip".

JANYEWLOVER69 @janyew.love · 23/09/2026

I did, they just ghosted the Twitter thread and haven't responded since, I'll reach out by email but idk if they will respond there either but I wanted to warn you from posting your comic on ao3 since you also applied to tokimeki so I was worried

100

JANYEWLOVER69 @janyew.love · 23/09/2026

Ao3 just doesn't let you advertise/mention selling anything on ao3 but you can still sell them outside of ao3. I don't understand why tokimeki would disallow it on their end is my issue though

100

JANYEWLOVER69 @janyew.love · 23/09/2026

tangentially related but tokimeki festa posted that works posted on ao3 are not allowed to be sold at their con ... which is making me rethink if i can post my next book at all on ao3 if i was trying to attend x.com/TokimekiFest...

a tweet by TokimekiFesta on twitter stating: As stated, work published on AO3 is ineligible to be SOLD at Tokimeki Festa! This requirement has no bearing on your ability to submit it as part of your portfolio.

I usually haven't enjoyed a lot of the actual stories Clamp has written, but their skill at drawing a comic page still something to be studied. Check out this ambitious 8 panel comic page, which still manages to read easily. Leading the eye is an art in and of itself!
