We're going to have to campaign on the emotional, not the economic level, e.g. "Look at Germany - great beer, superlative football, beautiful scenery - see for yourselves!" Revive town twinning and school exchanges. Emphasise what we have in common. Get Brits and EU citizens together.

I'm so glad to hear vaccination was possible this time. We have just had ours (plus the flu jab), but nobody at the surgery seemed able to tell me whether it was effective against the current Covid variant. Fingers crossed.

🤗 I didn't even notice, Stephen - I was distracted by hearing the Beatles singing in my head! I still have the original German 45 rpm record with the big hole in the middle you had to have a special plastic bit to play on a UK record player. Hunted it down on my first visit to Munich in 1965.

Do you mean the “u” sound? I think we were told to do this at school too. It does work, as a quick start, but it needs to be practised, checked and corrected. So many Brits can’t be bothered.
