I got an Outer Wilds merch mug today, and look at what it says on the bottom! I wish all merch mugs were like this

Let's go to that cocktail bar down the street, it's only 6 minutes by car

This is basically the idea I had - a silent disco VRChat world. You can switch between three channels instantly (audio and video is multiplexed into a single stream), the visuals always adjust to what you're listening to and you can also see what channel other people are listening to.

AI coding 🙃 (most of this is actually an auto-generated OpenAPI client, but I still found it funny)

That's definitely an interesting way to disable a smoke detector 🤨

The explanation at the end was really helpful in understanding what they actually mean by this.

Today I tried to use Krita again in place of Photoshop. Wanted to add text and a window appears to enter the text instead of just typing in place. Also to close the window you need two clicks, one to save then one to close. Wanted to resize the text and the resize handles don't work.

Is there a way to change what audio device VRChat is outputting to from the game itself, so that two instances running alongside each other can output to different devices? VRChat's own help page says that this is an option in the Quick Menu, but I only have input settings there, not output.

This is what two years of being outside does to a flag :D I think it's time for a new one, since I'm legit worried the old one is just gonna rip apart and fly away at some point
Two pride flags, the top one is very worn and ripped up, the bottom one is new

Thanks Windows lock screen, that's definitely what Palma is most known for 🤣

Yea it's all over the place. 2400 is still a better deal than 3000 or 6000 for example.

On the phone app, the pricing makes even less sense. At these prices, the best bang for your buck is actually 1200V and the rest is spread around randomly.

jangxx @jangxx.com · 08/05/2026
Wait I lied, it's even cheaper than that 🤣

I figured out a way to make the ASCII Grabpass effect _somewhat_ work in VR and then added a little "photo box" area to the world for people to take photos in. I don't think this comes across well in a video, but the effect looks pretty wild in VR :D

Was this result really worth it? I'm not sure 😅

What I tried to download vs what I got Somehow I get a feeling this model is not supposed to be on SketchFab 😅
A SketchFab screenshot titled "Homer Simpson PS1 Style Lowpoly Model"Windows Explorer screenshot showing a file alluding to the fact that the texture is ripped from The Simpsons Game on Wii

Idk if this is common knowledge, but if you have an epilator, you can put the attachment parts in the dishwasher to clean them.

To celebrate the occasion, I actually made a medium version of my avatar again, for the first time in ages :D

One of the rate times I actually collected some inspiration pictures beforehand. There's something from almost all of them in the current version.

On the one hand this world feels like a total shitpost, but on the other I'm actually pretty happy with how I captured that sort of 90s 3D render vibe :D

Very possibly the stupidest game idea I ever had :D I present to you: FBTetris! (No idea if I'm ever going to turn this into a real thing with points, maybe block rotation, etc)

I remember reading articles about this sort of thing, but never expected to find an offer to participate in this scheme in my spam folder :D Ngl, if I was super desperate I might actually consider letting some guy from China use my name and a VM to dupe companies, but luckily, I am not.

I'm probably the last person to figure this out but I can totally see why Virtual Riot was inspired by these sorts of pendulum videos to make his polyrhythms track. No matter how you visualize it, it's always super mesmerizing :D

It came to my attention you enjoy the sound of polyrhythms 🤔

I found some motivation to work on my asteroid world (Club Bennu) again. Remade basically every single material with a different shader to be able to add Light Volume support and also improved the lighting in some other ways. Pretty happy with how this turned out.

I tried to create this effect in poiyomi where Emission Blinking and Center Out lined up. The problem is that "Blink Velocity" and "Center out Flow Speed" are on different timescales. Looking at the shader I found the formula: For speed x put "pi*x" in the blink velocity and "10*x" in the flow speed

I tried using the new performance debug view in VRChat and I think it still needs some work. It could be amazing for performance debugging, but why are all the numbers in scientific notation? Maybe I'm just not bigbrain enough, but I find 1.0e2 or 3.9e6 way harder to read than 100 and 3,900,000.

Not sure if this idea is good or terrible, but after @captainduck.bsky.social recently posted about the IKEA downloader, I thought it'd be cool to make a huge random IKEA maze. Sadly the script broke, so I used the same tech to make a large office instead, where you can have a popup anywhere!

I needed to take some photos of a VRChat world, but the built-in camera has an annoying distance limit. Luckily we can control the camera with OSC now, so I quickly whipped up a little script that lets me move the camera anywhere with an Xbox controller. github.com/jangxx/vrc-c...

I found some motivation to work on the particle sphere idea again, and I finally got the simulation to work how I wanted now. Also I found that putting the sphere next to the main platform actually looks pretty cool too (maybe even better?) while also being a lot less disorienting.

streaming service can take away. On the other hand, the experience was very frustrating. Of the total money I spent, less than one third was actually for the CD, the rest was shipping and import duties. And the CD label is also not even printed properly lol. So yea, I don't think [..]

I recently fell in love with the album I Love My Computer from Ninajirachi, so much so that I decided to buy my first physical music medium in over 10 years. I have to say, it feels nice to support an artist by buying a physical album and to know that I now have a copy that no [..]

I created a little Grafana dashboard to calculate how much power my electronics use over one whole year and the unit automatically switched to MWh for my PC 😭 At least now I have definitive proof of where a lot of my electricity bill comes from 🙃
