Today, the person who made me a mom is 23 years old. Tomorrow will be the 9th anniversary of the seizure that led to her brain tumour diagnosis. I cannot overstate how happy I am to be celebrating this day with her.

My son turned 18 yesterday. He told me he was trans in grade 5 but he knew since grade 2. Gender affirming care is the reason he is thriving today. It makes me sad to know that many kids don’t have access to it.

In the complaint we addressed the fact that their discrimination policy did not include sexual orientation and gender identity as required by NB human rights legislation. The camp stated that they were in the process of changing that. This is their current policy….

Six years ago, my son wanted to attend Caton’s island with his friends. I reached out and was informed that he would have to bunk with female campers. We filed a human rights complaint which we did not win due mainly to the fact we didn’t formally apply…..(see next post)

Last week I had a new pulmonary heart valve installed. I’m feeling so much better already, both physically and mentally. I had to fight for two years to get this done and to say I’m glad I trusted myself and kept pushing is an understatement. Always trust that you know your body best!
