Inspired by today's Waldo session. Super quick one, I'm sure you could get all of these by playing Expert once and going for everything.

Short game, and so a very reset-heavy session (unsurprisingly), but with some results! This one had one lesser stage because RNG, otherwise very close to mid-0:45, I think? Tempted to try sub-0:50 🤔

Welp, that's a WR for Medium afaik! Was close to 2:0x, which would've been awesome, but I'll gladly take this! Still a second saved over the previous record. Waldoctober never disappoints!

Alright, that's better - at least nice having splits now that show a 19! And then afterwards I had a run that was on a spicy pace until Report 6 happened D: Goes to show there's some potential for more! For now I'll be giving it a rest though, nice to get this PB at least ^_^

23:xx goal achieved. It took two 24:00's (one was a 0.1 sec PB lmao) to get there. Pretty happy with it overall! And now, ready to move on to other fun projects!

It's been a while since the last badge, but having run this recently, I figured I'd give it a try. Not too long, like the game itself. You play both difficulties, Easy ends after the 3rd stage. Two achievements where you have to defeat a specific number of enemies - not sure why, haha.

Barely managed a 21 at the end of this first session. Surprising 5 second gold at the end, which sealed the deal. And stage 7 is already shaping up to ruin future paces, haha. Enjoying the run so far, hoping to do more tomorrow?

And so I finally finished a Super 16 race after all these years. Bit of a rough first half here and there (especially Super Bomberman 2 and Final Fight 3) and I was very nervous in the beginning for some reason, but I was quite pleased with the second half. I may have PBed in a couple of games.

15: Aztec Adventure (SMS) I've run games on a few systems, but there's enough that I've never gotten around to; the Master System is one of them. This game caught my eye, just liked the general sort of cozy vibe and the colorful visuals.

14: The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds (3DS) One of my favorite game series ever, but I somehow never ran a Zelda up to this point. ALBW is actually along the top of the list for me, and had been on my list to learn for years. Although ALTTP has been tempting as well, so yeah >_>

13: Mega Man (DOS) At some point I learned part of MM 3 for a previous Big 20, but otherwise I've never been much of a runner of the series. This may become the exception though, perhaps because of having a fondness for DOS games in general. It's been on my mind as a run from time to time.

12: VVVVVV (PC) I mean, you probably know this one. Played it, did the Super Gravitron for more than a minute and some time trials. That makes it a bit closer to actually running it, but although I have some interest, I've always ended up prioritizing other projects.

11: Super Adventure Island II (SNES) In the category "I ran the first game, let's play this one too". Totally different gameplay, more focus on exploration; I liked it a great deal. Just that I've never found the right moment to sit down and learn the run. Wouldn't be surprised if it still happens!

10: Gato Roboto (PC) This was a fun one, not super long but with some enjoyable action - and I mean, you play as a cat :3 I've run a few recent-ish retro-adjacent indie titles and this would fit right in. Although I did get 100% not too long ago, I've yet to do more with it beyond that.

9: Nano Assault EX (3DS) When I got a bunch of 3DS eShop exclusives a while back, this one stood out, a visually striking shmup with neat gameplay. I don't think anyone else has run this. Made notes for it a while back and tried routing some areas; may resume it eventually.

8: Nangoku Shōnen Papuwa-kun (SFC) This eternally remains a game with such potential to be a good speedrun. Just one thing: unskippable cutscenes. Not the biggest deal in a playthrough, but here it slows down the speedrun's pace so much that it kinda turned me off learning it. Too bad, really.

7: Shantae: Risky's Revenge (PC) Shantae was my proper introduction to speedrunning with Pirate's Curse, and I've ran some of the other games in the series as well. This one I'd still like to learn, but haven't gotten around to somehow. I'd probably try Any%, which is pretty short (and has RNG).

6: Baby Jo: The Super Hero (TG-CD) One I learned about through Kusogrande. I played around with it, trying to route and briefly attempting to finish a run. That lasted for less than an hour, it did not go too well. The game just got me over and over again xD

4: Ganbare Goemon 2: Kiteretsu Shōgun Magginesu (SFC) I have run the first SNES Goemon, and this always looked like it would be right up my alley. I started learning it at some point, but I remember being not being able to get one item to spawn. Made decent progress, but stalled for the time being.

3: Tomb Raider II (PC) Been a huge fan of the series since the first game, and this second entry always has been my favorite. Back then I tried to go fast with the Assault Course, and clipped in the manor's wall to get up the roof, so I guess I was already speedrunning before it was called that 😎

2: 3D Dot Game Heroes (PS3) One of my earliest considerations for a run, maybe even before I started streaming. The main category is New Game+, which I believe carries over your money from a finished save file? I did make a few notes, based on the WR, but never continued with it, dunno if I will.

1: The Mask (SNES) This was in the Super 16 at some point. I learned the entire route, but the camera movement in the game made me motion sick. It swoops left and right as you move, and the rapid pacing of the movement doesn't exactly help there either, haha. So, that got shelved for that reason.

As you may have noticed, I've not been exactly active as of late. Been wanting to be around more and stream, but having no ideas for projects right now, and life has been somewhat busy as well. Hopefully back soon enough! (Post from my Discord server included)
I'm still here! Just haven't been in a streaming mood. IRL has been kinda randomly busy and feeling a bit overwhelming at times, I guess? Not busy in a bad way, just an ongoing list of stuff to do really, it seems. Otherwise I've been spending my spare time either doing other things or not much in particular.
Haven't actually done any gaming for the past two weeks (until yesterday). Been lurking on Twitch/Discord, that's mostly it.
I'm also going to Japan for two weeks next month, so I'm sort of mentally preparing for that as well.

I do hope to resume activity soon! Miss you all
