I've noticed recently that the striking colors of many birds have been enhanced in photos. Not this time. Amazing bird! I hope, when our pickleball gals do visit Colombia, we'll do a bird sanctuary. Adding this one to the must-see list! Thanks for posting!

It's been beautiful lately, and another gorgeous day forecasted. Although I don't expect to see this long-lived Dahlia while out today, seeing it here is a gift. 🙏 Today: the October mums and still-blooming summer flowers invite the birds and bees. Saw a carpenter bee yesterday, hard at work. ❤️

It was a TV showing of a black-and-white horror film called "Fiend Without a Face," when I was around 5 or 6, with brains getting sucked out of people's heads. They bounced around on their spinal cords, searching for victims. I had nightmares about those horrifying brains for easily 15 years.

Wish I'd had the sense to stretch my wings and wash up in the rain today. But once it started dripping off my nose, even under a brolly, I thought it best to give up my door-to-door canvassing. I probably looked a sight. ☹️ Does this signal the end to the drought? I dare not hope.

I took a little look at her latest photos, reportedly taken in her 90s, and not only does she look great for her age, but she still looked pretty sharp in the photo. If true, those are gifts.

I saw an article that advised Dems to stop talking about Democracy. "Many believe: 'Hey, it's AMERICA, therefore, whatever happens, it's still a democracy, right?'" Focus instead on the number 1 stated problem: Cost of living. (And for goodness sake, don't say "affordability"! It's SIX syllables!)

Yeah. I hear ya'. What's interesting to me is that, when I'm out canvassing door to door, so few voters list Saving Democracy as a key motivator to voting in Nov on our survey. Studies are showing most folks don't see anything wrong, or even care if it is wrong. Shocking 🫢

Dog Day Afternoon, apparently. So many gentle and adorable moments with dogs today. Or just animals in general. Why is it that animals seem to go right into my heart and soul. Some kind of spooky magic? And yet, they're obviously healers -- all of them. Good! Like angels, but they don't know it.

Oh -- this makes me feel so calm and happy. As the description says, these horses are well cared for. I can tell because I can see shoes on many of their hooves. Shoeing is a big job and a big commitment to protect a horse. Love, love! ❤️
