The favorite #novel of early 20thC writer, Natsume Soseki, who excels at revealing Japanese culture and thinking. Highlights are the reflection of the characters’ state of mind in the winter weather, the sense of duty and resignation, and the protagonist’s “failed” escape to a #zen monastery. 😉
