Today marks both my 20th anniversary and my final day at the University of Tennessee. Though it has been hard saying goodbye to our dear friends in Knoxville as well as our first home as a family, I am thrilled to be joining the Rutgers Political Science Department this fall!

I think it's important to know that Curtis Yarvin, an extremist funded by Peter Thiel and a buddy of JD Vance, literally aims to destroy Harvard (as in academia) by APRIL and joked (wink wink!) about wanting to murder all academics and journalists, except (perhaps!) those who teach math and science.

I fear this is correct. The chaos will provide cover for the systematic dismantling of state capacity, which in turn will make many basic govt functions susceptible to corrupt capture by the very actors causing the chaos. The 2 pieces work together, not in tension.

We cannot completely rely on courts to save us in this. BUT this is a great example of why actions in court are important. The vast majority of attorneys are unwilling to flat-out lie or misrepresent to a judge. And that helps to clarify what's going on.
