I am at this point in my career where I've been around long enough to see things change - for the worse, in this case. I am stilling working towards my permanent contract so for now I 'need' the big publishers, but this is one of the things I want to address as soon as I get the permanent position.

at times I still miss my former Ghent office (both the people and the location) because whenever we had the first bit of spring weather (like today), we went out to get ice cream, and there were plenty of great options nearby. The Antwerpen campus is also nice, but sadly no ice cream opportunities 😭

My first real post here, and a sad one already, unfortunately. Today there is a national demonstration in The Hague, the Netherlands, because of the announced budget cuts in Dutch higher education. The new government wants to cut €1.3 billion, and reverse earlier internationalisation efforts.
