Just a couple of the many Cory's Shearwater seen last week during a family trip to Tenerife #SuperSeabirdSunday
A Cory's Shearwater, with long, narrow wings glides above deep blue ocean water. Its body is pale gray and white, with dark wing edges and a yellow bill.A Cory's Shearwater (a dark gray-and-white seabird with very long, slender wings) flies low over bright blue ocean waves, with white spray breaking behind it.

The (juvenile? plumage looked to be pristine) Osprey, that flew over at Crosswood Reservoir, West Lothian, Scotland this morning. Also, it's fairly unusual (for me anyway) that it doesn't appear to be ringed @birdinglothian.bsky.social #BirdingScotland

Juvenile Sparrowhawk in the garden a short time ago - shot through the (thankfully clean) kitchen window #UKBirding #nature #wildlife
A juvenile Sparrowhawk stands alert on a grass lawn, looking back over its shoulder. It holds a small tuft of feathers in its beak, with loose feathers scattered across the grass and in the air. Soft green foliage and warm, blurred vegetation frame the bird. An (unavoidable at the time, to prevent disturbance to the bird) out of focus plant pot is in the bottom right hand side of the shot.

Not my most exciting #nature #wildlife video, but I've finally (sort of) seen a live Armadillo in the wild. Walking in a forest, by Lake Moultrie in South Carolina, when I noticed a twig move. I thought it was a snake at first, but soon worked out what it was.

It's maybe a sad thing to say that there's not much that gets me excited these days, but then something literally appears that I'll remember forever. A close encounter with a Bobcat in South Carolina this evening. It was still about 90°F, which I think made the camera lose focus #wildlife #nature

Something a bit different last night - #Charleston Riverdogs #baseball. I didn't have a clue what was going on, but it was pretty entertaining (despite $15 for a beer!) all the same and they won with a late home run. Kept an eye out for Nighthawks, but no luck there 🙂
A view from the top of the stands at Charleston Riverdogs baseball stadium. Looking out towards the field of play, where players can be seen on the green pitch. The Sun has just set, and 2 large floodlights are shining on to the pitch. A fairly large crowd can be seen in the stands, stretching from directly in front of, and around to the right of the observer.
