Christian christening and baptism are magical rituals that create a contract between you and a diety you don't understand. It's largely nonconsensual, especially for babies, but mainly because you're completely uninformed. And the church *owns* you afterward. The foundations of ritual are all there.

I've spent most of today mourning my cat Fergus who passed a year ago today (7/18). The grief still feels very fresh and I will never be the same. He was my best friend in the world and my angel in more ways than one. We shared so much. I know he's OK, but I miss him terribly.

When I say "from my spirit guides" I literally mean that it's fully outside my head. As a medium, I wish more people understood that mediumship is not me making up stories in my own voice in my head. I hear them in their own voice, fully outside of myself. That's just one way I get info, though.
