Jamie Cutting @jamies.place · 27/05/2026Such a vibe! And a great game, it's got a really cool vibe 120

Jamie Cutting @jamies.place · 20/09/2025Tokyo has some of the most strange but amazing building layout I’ve seen in a city, like this little gap between tall buildings that’s been turned into parking space 020
Jamie Cutting @jamies.place · 28/04/2025This is what I’ve done with mine! It’s so fun being able to watch tv or play games from it, when if it has a lower resolution 040
Jamie Cutting @jamies.place · 13/04/2025Truly astounded by the #MarathonReveal - that cinematic short has style on another level. Shocking that when artists are brought in to make art, they make amazing things. 010
Jamie Cutting @jamies.place · 29/03/2025The wargaming PMG doc was really eye opening… thanks for suggesting this, it’s a great watch so far! 000
Jamie Cutting @jamies.place · 17/02/2025Without money to get started, indie teams are left either dead on arrival or having to ask people in the same situation to work for free. And no one with the money seems eager to hire… 000
Jamie Cutting @jamies.place · 17/02/2025As a designer currently finished with uni and working on getting my first role in the industry, I’m seeing lots of this too - it’s tough. There’s money in the industry to waste millions on games that immediately get shut down, but none for new indie startups. 100

Jamie Cutting @jamies.place · 03/01/2025Finally managed to get my parent’s #crt hooked up with my PC. Can’t wait to play some games on here! 010
Jamie Cutting @jamies.place · 03/01/2025Have you taken a look at Beautiful Light? I saw this video on it recently, which caught my eye. Might be one watch… youtu.be/zab0FHwhMdE?...youtu.beA game that doesn't fake immersionYouTube video by Riloe 121

Jamie Cutting @jamies.place · 30/12/2024I agree that this is great for indoor environments, but what about when outdoors? It’s tough to find similar easy-to-follow language in natural/open environments, hence the whole yellow paint trend. 000
Jamie Cutting @jamies.place · 29/12/2024LOVED playing this, but I destroyed my 3ds’ top screen so it’s not the same anymore 😭 130
Jamie Cutting @jamies.place · 29/12/2024These look so good! Even just the added detail of the leaves at the borders make such a difference 010
Jamie Cutting @jamies.place · 29/12/2024Definitely pulled something in my back building this #Lego set this evening, but it’s so worth it. Only a little further to go! 000
Jamie Cutting @jamies.place · 28/12/20248 hours… I wish 😭 There’s not enough time in the day tbh, especially during winter 000
Jamie Cutting @jamies.place · 28/12/2024Feels like I’m starting to get back into making things, finally. Who knew that taking breaks and resting makes a difference to your creative ability?? #indiedev #gamedev 1152
Jamie Cutting @jamies.place · 28/12/2024Adore your art style!! A sonic game looking like this would be so cute 120
Jamie Cutting @jamies.place · 28/12/2024Worst bit of this is that despite the title of it (“help us beat the bots”), you can be sure that this is being used to train AI. Which doesn’t do them any good either, when their puzzles don’t work! 000
Jamie Cutting @jamies.place · 28/12/2024Tried to log into my #microsoft account to change my email notification settings, and got blasted by having to complete these awful test things. Most of them didn’t even have correct answers, like the one below. Why do these exist?? And why do I need to complete 15 of them?! 100
Jamie Cutting @jamies.place · 28/12/2024Totally agree with what you’re putting down btw. I find the process of working things through to get to a definition helps my brain to understand things better.media.tenor.coma man in a floral shirt stands in front of a chalkboard with mathematical equations on itAlt: Markiplier gazing off into the distance, with equations floating around him. 010
Jamie Cutting @jamies.place · 28/12/2024Ooh I think that’s a satisfying way of defining it! To consider yourself a ‘fan’ of a piece of media, it’s necessary to have experienced all of its attributes 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘅𝘁. 120
Jamie Cutting @jamies.place · 28/12/2024That’s interesting… I wonder then: when we remember a game through rose tinted glasses and say we’re fans of them, but forget about all the difficult bits of it like janky controls and awkward sequences, have we moved to being fans of the idea of the game rather than the game itself? 🧐 130
Jamie Cutting @jamies.place · 28/12/2024If that’s a future that Netflix wishes to push, they should start investing in audiobooks. Film is designed to be watched, just as a game is to be played. 020
Jamie Cutting @jamies.place · 28/12/2024That’s very fair, and I agree that you can’t properly understand a game without having felt the experience of playing it for yourself. But does that necessarily mean you cannot be a fan of it? 110
Jamie Cutting @jamies.place · 28/12/2024Sure, gameplay is an essential part of the experience. You don’t truly ‘feel’ the game until you’ve actually controlled it yourself. But if I’ve engrossed myself with the world, and community, and all other parts, am I not a ‘fan’ of that game as a whole, not just the parts I’ve engaged with? 110
Jamie Cutting @jamies.place · 28/12/2024Whilst I see what you’re getting at, and totally agree on the point of playing a game being a different experience to consuming any of the rest of it, this makes me wonder: At what point are you just a fan of the game? Is gameplay really so important that it should gatekeep someone from fandom? 120
Jamie Cutting @jamies.place · 26/12/2024I think at this point it’s just bots following each other tbh, dead internet at its finest 040

Jamie Cutting @jamies.place · 25/12/2024Everything in that game has some life to it, which prevents it feeling stiff. For example, the things you can cast at the bottom could move around, perhaps with different animations depending on the elemental types associated. Then when selected, use a big burst of particles to show it! 110
Jamie Cutting @jamies.place · 25/12/2024Loving the colours and layout!! I’d recommend making sure there’s plenty of juice to it though too. Balatro is a great example here, where almost every bit of the ui moves and shakes and reacts to being hovered over and clicked on. 110
Jamie Cutting @jamies.place · 24/12/2024I feel that, I look at the stuff from when I started at uni and cringe at it 020
Jamie Cutting @jamies.place · 24/12/2024Yeah possibly - a shame, but it is what it is. Hopefully they’ll either change their tune, or something better might take its place 000
Jamie Cutting @jamies.place · 24/12/2024I’m surprised this hasn’t been talked about more?? Seriously disappointing 120
Jamie Cutting @jamies.place · 24/12/2024Tbf they’re better than G2A in my experience, never had an issue on cdkeys but you just have to be careful to get the right thing wherever you go Would also recommend making sure you check stores like gog for discounts!! 120
