Some people celebrate the start of games week with awards and beers. I’m celebrating in a different way.

I'm playing the THUG2 story as part of a big update to ReTHAWed and man 2004 was...a time. Show a Napster to a kid to confuse them.

Didn't know there was a 20% off sale and I had a voucher, so I grabbed the two most polar opposite things I could think of.

A 4K release of South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut and a 4K boxset of Akira Kurosawa movies.

Maybe, or it could've been this one. Image search links to the same place I got the invoice from, so I think this *might* be it.

This really fucked me up at the time. Things are much better now but goddamn.

Going through some old receipts and invoices. 2012 was a wild time. I have no idea what that Campo Santo thing was.

Boku no Natsuyasumi got a machine translation out of the blue. Maybe you should've kept this to yourself so we could've waited for a human made translation.

I've known about Boku no Natsuyasumi for about 15 years, since Ray Barnholt talked about it on his podcast, No More Whoppers. Then I bought every issue of his magazine, SCROLL, as it came out; SCROLL 10 (June 25, 2013) is all about the Boku games.

It has been on my list of things to play "once I learned Japanese well enough", but that never happened. I tried to play it once with Google Translate, but it was too slow and miserable — it was just not giving me the nostalgic feeling that I wanted.

Then I decided to choose a project to test Claude's multilingual and assembly understanding, and went with this... and it worked out!

I didn’t think Glebe would ever get a mention in anything but there you go. Akiba Lost is something I’m not sure I love yet, but really digging.

Exactly! If it was a bunch of merch and a copy of the game as well, I'd think it's too much but whatever, you're getting a copy of the game. Hell, it's not like they've done this in the past!

Look I don't wanna yuck anyones yums but that is 700 goddamned dollars for a bunch of merch and you don't even get a copy of the game with it. AND IT PRESOLD OUT? Goddamn.

Wild to see Ikea just putting down a countdown until I can't give them money anymore.

I'm late but: - I saw an all timer from Disney - I saw a far from all timer from Disney - The dude from the OC has opinions about Crypto (it's really stupid) - Zach Cregger made a slightly more tolerable movie than Weapons. #lastfourwatched

Everyone Is Lying To You For Money (2025) - Three Stars
Aladdin (1992) - Five goddamned stars
Resident Evil (2026) - Three Stars
Zootopia 2 (2025) - Two and a half stars

I've been playing a bunch of FF7 Remake, because I've got a deadline, and I never made it past Wall Market when it first released. This sequence is phenomenal but the rhythm gamer in me is hating how unreadable this is.

I miss when cheat codes were so ubiquitous that even DVD easter eggs would be considered cheats.

It’s good to know Nintendo and Intelligent Systems know their audience.

Theodora asks “what’s this? Who are you?” Options appear - examine her outfit or examine her outfit. This is a screen shot from Fire Emblem - Fortunes Weave.

Lego Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight may not have PlayStation exclusive budget or production, but it tells a better story and genuinely funny at points. They made Arkham Knight for kids and it rocks.

A pal of mine reminded me that Persona 5 turns 10 years old today. I don't know what's worrying, that I own that game three times and never finished once, or that I forgot that I was literally in Japan when it came out and living out Persona 5. Fuck I hate the passage of time.
