Russian Data Hubs in Kaluga, destroyed by Ukrainian drones. At the same time: Online support in Germany for AfD, and in UK for Reform, takes a huge dip. THIS is NOT a COINCIDENCE.

As Burnham confirms the security services had evidence of Russian interference in the Brexit referendum, let's not forget Farage and Johnson were front and centre in the leave campaign. We now know they lied - why & who called the shots?

Which is why the Tories won't win the next election, or probably none for some time. The nation has seen the error of Brexit and will remember it was Cameron's cowardice in facing down his own party, then Johnson and Farage's lies that led to the current shambles.

As long as the Tories are threatening to leave the ECHR, they aren’t a serious party. Consider it the ultimate red flag. Any party who’d take this entirely unnecessary and ruinous risk with our rights and our country’s security and wellbeing should never get its hands on power. (Letter, Times)
Value of the
ECHR
Sir, In dangerous times, serious countries do not retreat into splendid isolation. They build alliances, multiply their influence and strengthen institutions. Key among those is the 46-member Council of Europe, at its heart the European Convention on Human Rights. As former independent reviewers of terrorism legislation we have seen at close quarters that the ECHR is not just a human rights instrument. It is a national security asset. Terrorist networks, hostile states, organised crime gangs and people smugglers do not respect borders. Tackling them requires arrangements for the closest possible co-operation with our neighbours, including through joint investigations and police access to European passenger, fingerprint, DNA and vehicle data. These arrangements expressly depend on internationally agreed human rights standards, applied by a supranational court. We detect no political willingness to excuse the UK from compliance with standards to which the rest of Europe already subscribes. As authoritarian powers grow more aggressive and democratic institutions face mounting pressure, Britain should not be abandoning one of its greatest postwar achievements.
The question is not whether we can afford to remain within the ECHR. It is whether, in an increasingly perilous world, we can afford not to.

No, it's true, the passengers arrive dressed in black, wear balaclavas and drape themselves in flags of St George. The airline operates as 'Farage Flights' and originates from Clacton. Of course, this is a budget carrier, with no frills and additional charges for any non-fascist passengers.

If a supermarket can reduce fuel by 8p per litre if you spend £60 in their shop, to me it suggests they're making a rather large profit at a time when their customers are struggling. How about doing the decent thing & just reducing the price for everyone without conditions. Every little helps.

Let's hope, some of their more moderate voters are awakening to the fact they are useless at running anything, except lining their own pockets. Now is the time for govt to educate on international laws on asylum, & benefits of migration to the UK. Time to counter the fascist idiocy. Stop the thugs!

Am I the only one who thinks Labour should just start the rejoin process with the EU. No referendum, no new manifesto, just the application of common sense for the common good. If a government's first responsibility is to protect the nation, then it is imperative we rejoin ASAP.

If Burnham achieves nothing else, putting laws into place to establish factual, unbiased, MSM reporting should be a priority. The BBC board should definitely go, followed by all the client journalists, editors and producers at BBC News. The public deserve honesty not propaganda.

“The question is not whether we can afford to remain within the Convention [ECHR]. It is whether, in an increasingly dangerous world, we can afford not to” Political liars and lightweights, like Badenoch and Farage, must never be allowed to take that risk. www.lawgazette.co.uk/commentary-a...

In short, if Britain were to leave the ECHR, it would not be
'taking back control. It would be surrendering influence over the rules and institutions that help keep us safe.
The debate about the ECHR is too often conducted as though it were a choice between national sovereignty and international law. That is a false choice.
The Convention advances British interests because it reflects British values: liberty under law, democratic government and the accountability of power.
Walking away would not make Britain freer. It would make Britain weaker.

It will be interesting to see the response from Farage and Johnson. What will their new argument be, 'OK we lied to the public last time but, honest guv, you can trust us on this now'?

He is doing the right thing if he sets out the options, the potential cost-benefit to each, including the costs of doing nothing & remain as we are. I hope this setting out includes defence & social benefits, not just economic considerations. For Brexit, we had lies & hype. We now need honesty. 1/2

Burnham has a bold plan. We've been waiting for so long for the country to have a real leader with an achievable vision. As individuals, we may not agree with everything but nobody else has come up with anything better or more positive. Let's get behind him, the plan, each other, our nation.

Nigel Farage, what a crass act. He's the only man in politics who can get so low he can walk under a snake's belly wearing a top hat. And his thuggish racist Reformites will lap it up. He should be in jail for crimes against common decency.

The UK'S stance on immigration comes from the same self-harming lunacy as Brexit. Will our politicians never learn? Surely, it's time for our parliamentary representatives to stop swaying with the populist winds and just do the right thing. We need immigration and we must overturn Brexit.

Free speech should be about being able to hold and speak about an opinion, no matter if controversial or unsavoury, not being able to lie with impunity. We have laws about voicing opinions if they cause offence, racial hatred etc, though you'd sometimes wonder if they are being enforced.

As BBC news no longer does impartiality or unbiased informative journalism, it should be disbanded. It does not fit the remit of a national broadcaster it once at least tried to fulfil. Too many client producers, editors and journalists in their stable. Pull the plug.
