still a horrible decision by the city to allow private vehicles here. this should only be open for transit like the 18, the last thing we need is another north-south street for drivers to speed in and out of downtown. i think a bottleneck was good for eat street which already has too many cars on it

I agree that #3 with that wording is problematic. I eventually chose yes, but it can (and will) be read as "intentional action(s) which (even unintentionally) caused fraud." Like "I intentionally biked to work but was unintentionally hit by a car on the way."

History Wikipedia is written for, like, an eighth grade understanding. Math Wikipedia is written for a doctorate-level understanding. That's kinda messed up.

In ww2, bombers kept coming back with holes the size of 11 yr olds. So the air force added kid-sized armor plates. It was only later they realized the surviving planes came back like that, not bc 11 yr olds did all the window smashing, but bc MPD was only capable of catching the dumbest offenders.

Cars have four lanes here; people have less than one meter. The cars have claimed even that. I'm joining the #WarOnWalking on the side of walking! 🌎 Little Rock, AR, USA
A half-meter of sidewalk; to the right of the curb is a four-lane stroad; to the left is a meter-high concrete retaining wall with a meter-and-a-half high wooden residential fence on top of it. Ahead the residential fence is replaced by untrimmed bushes which encroach upon the sidewalk.A sidewalk, approximately a meter wide, is blocked by a temporary orange road sign which reads, "TRUCKS ENTERING AND LEAVING ROADWAY." To the left is a four-lane stroad; to the right is a retaining wall with a tall fence on top. Ahead, a sing proclaims that the speed limit is 35 mph, which is fast enough to kill a person outside of a car in 90%+ of crashes. The sidewalk and road gutter are strewn with pink, brown, and green plant debris.

I've been studying in Germany for a year and a half (and ridden 51% of the rail network in that time), but there are still some things I'm looking forward to when I return to MN next week: buns from Isles Buns & Coffee, Kwik Trip doughnuts, air conditioning, etc.

In the event of a collision (with just about anything), the cyclists would bear the brunt of the consequences, while the drivers push the danger onto society. I have a feeling that that's not the point she was driving at, though.

I hate when a person or group fights as hard as possible to make something (COVID response, Metro Green Line Extension) as difficult and costly as possible, then turns around and complain about that thing being bad. If you strive to be the problem, nobody should look to you for solutions.

This is actually the same reason why drinking fountains are known as bubblers in places like Wisconsin and Rhode Island! Around the same time, the strong unions in Milwaukee and Providence demanded that sparkling water flow freely for each man, woman, and child.

I have a nationwide local and regional transit ticket through my uni and a tram line directly to the campus. At no cost to me, I can go to class, Frankfurt, or anywhere else in Germany (so long as I can spare the time). Plus, I love being on a train/tram.

I spent last New Year's Eve on a rural German island and people were setting off fireworks from when the sun set at 5 or 6 pm until about 2 am. All this to say: people can have surprisingly large reserves.
