It’s ok everyone. Burn’em has banned sale of disposable BBQs. We’re saved. Nothing about more support for Fire Services or emergency response and mobilisation, or confirming no new oil or gas drilling in North Sea. And it’s just a ban on the sale. Not the use. FOR F*CKS SAKE. What’s it gonna take?

We opened the box. And wonders came out. At first, what came out looked miraculous. We reached deeper. Then... selfpropelled.life/2026/08/12/p... (New blog post)

What if…Farage steps down, claims establishment smear campaign. Outrage erupts, amplified by bots, echo chambers, conspiracy theories, foreign influence, far right. Civil unrest follows. Two weeks later he returns as "voice of reason", demands general election, and rides chaos into Downing Street.

No thanks Wes. You’re part of the problem, not solution.

Urr, Reform, yeah, they’re fine, no issues here at all. Thanks for Ben Goldborough MP for highlighting this racism and fascism from a Reform member. Disgusting. Could we deport them, maybe to America?

Wood mouse in my bedroom (Kevin). Lovely, but not ideal. Cat asleep a metre away in the clothes cupboard, refusing to wake up like he pays the mortgage. Room trashed trying to catch Kevin. Eviction pending… once His Lordship stirs 🐭😸

My letter in EDP today, which I didn’t think they were going to print as it’s very long, but maybe the EDP wanted some balance. Open letter to Foreign Secretary on Gaza.

“He’s not the messiah, he’s a very naughty boy.” This would be funny… if they didn’t actually believe it. We’ve reached the point where political branding now includes miracles and divine anointing. I don't think we're in Kansas anymore.

Great piece from Dr Nick Brooks in the Eastern Daily Press today, following on from the release of the Gov report on national security threat from ecosystem collapse and #climatecrisis Also online, click to boost the signal - www.edp24.co.uk/news/2587874...

Oi, Jenrick. MP for Newark — this isn’t The Traitors. Being an MP isn’t about scheming in the shadows. If you’ve lost public trust, do the decent thing: resign and trigger a by-election. Let Newark decide. #Traitors #PoliticsIsNotATVShow #Accountability #ByElectionNow #Democracy #Newark

It's very yellow in the fields round me at the moment, but I'm seeing a lot of insects so hoping farmers aren't using insecticides and the birds can benefit! Also very dry and dusty, which is worrying for April.

Seems legit, and they don't even have to be that old. Trump, Putin, Netanyahu, Orban, Milei, Musk, Bezos, oil company CEOs, Murdock, Tate brothers, the list goes on and on. Funny thing, not many female leaders that behave the same. Maybe, just maybe we need to end patriarchy.

Time for Europe to come together firmly behind Ukraine, no matter what Trump and his bunch of toxic supporters say; they are bullies, unprofessional and childlike, except that’s an insult to children. Slava Ukraini.

My letter in the Eastern Daily Press today. Happy they printed it all. We definitely need to be calling out Reform, toxic masculinity, the far right etc wherever possible. It's getting very dangerous; the othering, hating and attacking minority communities, division, rolling back human rights.
Political predators are on the prowl, preying on unsuspecting constituents by stoking fear and division in order to gain support. Whether it's Rupert Lowe in Great Yarmouth, Lee Anderson in Ashfield, or Nigel Farage in Clacton, they all share a common goal: your vote. Farage, however, is rarely in Clacton, as he spends much of his time abroad, bending the knee to Trump. These Reform MPs, multi-millionaires with their own agendas, have been emboldened by Trump's victory and his administration's radical, cruel policies. Like sharks sensing blood in the water, they are out to exploit and divide.

I had a very good GCSE history teacher who taught us about the 1920s and 1930s—about empathy and understanding what it was like for people living in those times. The tactics used by today’s right-wing MPs and parties closely mirror those employed by far-right and fascist movements in the early-to-mid 20th century. They target minority communities, spread lies and misinformation, create an “us vs. them” mentality, align themselves with the ultra-wealthy—such as Musk, Bezos, and Zuckerberg—attack human rights (like the European Convention on Human Rights), exploit religion, and stoke fear.

Take Rupert Lowe, Reform MP for Great Yarmouth, for example. Every day, he uses social media channels—where algorithms now favour right-wing rhetoric—to spread blame and false assertions about "illegal immigrants." He, along with other Reform MPs, routinely dehumanises these individuals, scapegoating them for the UK’s problems, while ignoring the real culprits: Brexit, the pandemic, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and Liz Truss’s disastrous economic policies.

Lowe recently complained about the treatment of spouses from America, Canada, Australia, or Japan who are seeking UK residency, making baseless claims about them being treated like criminals. Meanwhile, he paints "illegal immigrants" from "alien cultures" as undeserving of help. This rhetoric strips away compassion and empathy for people …

I mean, sure, it's all pretty grim at the moment with Trump, Musk, Putin, Milei, Netanhayu, basically lots of old white men trying to govern via autocracies and put us back decades, socially and culturally. But the sun is going to explode in 5 billion years so it doesn't really matter.

Spot on from @labourlewis.bsky.social on Reform. People are disillusioned and have had enough of most politicians who just don't represent our interests. However, Reform don't either, but they're good at connecting with the masses and blaming others for our problems.

Don't know about anyone else, but building a 'Riviera of the Middle East' on the blood of thousands of murdered Palestinians, whilst effectively ethnically cleansing the survivors from their homes, should be condemned in the strongest of terms. Hopefully it won't just be silence from MPs. #Gaza

I mean, I get there are a minority of dog owners that think someone else is gonna pick up their poo bags, but WTAF?! This is why cats are better, just saying.

Had an argument with Gideon about who is cleverer, humans or cats. He won; claims humans think to much, just look at all the destruction, misery & death caused. He doesn't think, just does, simpler apparently. I pointed out the genocide of birds/ furry mammals, he said cats got nothing on humans 😼

My letter in the Eastern Daily Press today, on #ClimateBreakdown and being labelled as an alarmist if you're worried about the threats we face. If you haven't signed the petition I reference yet, here's the link, well worth it - petition.parliament.uk/petitions/70...

The far right including a lot of press & Reform MPs like Rupert Lowe (Gt Yarmouth), constantly stoke fear & violence against immigrants, blaming them for our woes. Yet when we want to send foreign aid to help farmers etc, which will hopefully reduce migration, they moan. 1920s/30s Germany anyone?

Autumn, my favourite season. Love it when it’s bright sunshine, but cold. And the trees, their leaves burning red and gold. Last sunflower still going, and Gideon likes basking is the sun, well yawning at it mostly.

I feel like my first post on here should involve his lordship, Gideon, who has been enjoying the sunshine today in between naps.
