“Comment PLASTICINE to get a link to the show in your DMs.” You have no idea how much research I’ll do to find the episode myself rather than leave that comment.

A 1992 French adventure game taught me the writing lesson behind every fantasy novel I've written: the familiar builds a road to the unfamiliar.

Kids watched Pocahontas last night. I read somewhere that everyone at Disney wanted to work on that instead of The Lion King and I’d love to know why.

I am happy to be friends with a conservative who believes in a different approach to politics. I am not happy to be friends with someone who denies humanity to portions of society they don’t like.

The Internet is a great training ground for having kids, because you’ll already be prepared for arguing over the most innocuous statement. You: It’s dark at night. Your child/Internet hobgoblin: No it isn’t.

I’m not sure. Piracy was more convenient than the “legit” channels. I can’t see it making a huge comeback if isn’t as easy to watch something as it is via a streaming service. And I think those services feel the same way, which is why they’re not scared to pull this shit.

A lot of chat about the new 3D style for the Bluey movie, so I asked the target demographic. “It looks weird.” “It looks better on Disney.” Can’t disagree with them. I don’t understand why movie executives think 2D animation isn’t good enough for cinemas any more.

“It’s 2055 and the water is running out” is the beginning of a sci-fi dystopia.

When they ask you to watch a 20-minute video with two ads and three sponsors and the actual content could be distilled into a single written sentence.

Am I the only person who doesn't like colour-blind modes in video games? Whenever I try them the picture looks wrong. Because "right" looks wrong to me. So I turn it off.

It’s funny seeing how many people needed 30 years to realise Daniel Hillard was a dickhead. There was a horse in the house eating the birthday cake but you thought the mum was a bad guy?

This remains one of my favourite reviews I've received because it is, in fact, precisely what I intended.
A screenshot of a three-star review that reads "A story about how truly toxic altruism can be. Oh? That isn't what the author intended? Well that's what I got from it."

James O'Brien often talks about not vilifying people who are taken in by the lies. But there does come a point where it's incumbent on those people to check if the lies are true or not.

We recently rewatched Back to the Future, and I’ve decided I feel it’s the greatest motion picture trilogy ever made. Star Wars OT, Lord of the Rings, Dark Knight, Toy Story, The Matrix, they’re all amazing. But they’re not as consistently good as Back to the Future (though Toy Story is close!)

Option A. I love the art of option B, but it weakens the gag (repetition of slop blender, spreads over two panels instead of a single hit)

The day my dad came home with a Mega Drive. It was going to take me something like 18 months to save for a second-hand one. A few months in and he just came home with it. He said I could pay him back. I was ecstatic. I still had no money. But now I could play Sonic 1 until the cows came home.

Labour won an absolutely stonking majority but we’re all talking about the parties with 5 MPs. With good reason, I might add. I’m very pleased to see the Greens win in Gorton. It just seems bananas that a party with such a majority has managed to lose our attention.
