#BoltaireArt #SNOUP #OC Crystie is a tough & capable ice crystali, but she has a sensitive side to her as well. A flaw in her body makes it constantly emit near-frigid temperatures, making it hard for her to get close with anyone. She'd love nothing more than a long, warm hug from a friend though.

Crystie is a tall crystali who has power over ice. Despite this, her inability to properly sync with her own energa has led to her body constantly emitting near-frigid temperatures. She's immune to it thankfully, but she's very self-conscience about it.

Here she's wrapping her arms around herself, showing how much she misses the feeling of a warm, friendly embrace.

A picture of Crystie that I drew last year for a comparison. There's a white, sparkly puff of air coming out of her mouth, which is a brief hint at how cold the insides of her body are.

Again she's thankfully immune to her body's own abnormal temperatures.

My preferred Mickey tends to fluctuate between Classic Dot-Eyed Mickey (post mid-30's), the one most people know w/ pupils and Paul Rudish's Mickey Mouse. Whatever the case, I just prefer Mickey when he's allowed to have character and not just be a face that sells products. xD;

This is a bit of a pull but back in the mid/late 90's, Mega Man was drawn slightly taller than he was back in the NES days. You'd see him like this in 7, 8, the MvC series and so on. That look for Mega Man is probably my favorite, and I like that it returned for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds.

That would be pretty amusing if that did happen, but I'm doubtful it'd happen unless it's an elaborate fan project. xD; For what it's worth though, the new Snack Break series has an episode where Pac wears his hat w/ the feather while on a hiking trip.

Okay nvm; one last thing. I'm not the only one who thought his appearance in The Thousand Year Door was mostly pointless, right? Peach ditches him in the beginning, he briefly chats with Mario, goes all "Huff, I say!" to the inn and stays there for the rest of the game without much else to say. xD;

Heck I still think back occasionally to one of his better roles, in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. There he not only has a frazzled meet-up with his younger self, but you'd later see them occasionally try to entertain (Baby) Peach, and their shenanigans end up teaching Mario & Luigi new abilities!

Of course this isn't to say Toadsworth needed to be retired from the series, and obviously the reasoning behind it was shallow to say the least. He could've had his big character growth in the same way Toadette did in Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, or Pauline in both Mario Odyssey & DK Bananza.

To that end, Captain Toad and his Toad Brigade feel like a proper realization of what they tried to do with Toadsworth and his fellow Toads in Sunshine; a group who Mario regularly sees on his quest and make an attempt to keep up with and/or assist him, regardless of if they succeed or not.

Since his debut, Toadsworth usually stayed by the sidelines waiting for Mario to rescue Peach. Now I wouldn't say there's anything wrong with him being a total worrywart but beyond New Super Mario Bros. and a few spin-offs, he almost never took initiative to assist Mario throughout his adventures.

Seeing a 2D recreation of that one Sunshine piece is pretty neat, though it's interesting that Toadsworth is not present for it this time. At the risk of being made an enemy of longtime fans, I was always indifferent to him and didn't really mind when he eventually "retired" from the series. xD;

#NintendoSwitch2 #Bubsy4D Just wrapped up my first run of Bubsy 4D, and it certainly won't be the last. It's not saying much that this is easily Bubsy's best game, but even without prior baggage it's a super solid 3D platformer! It says a lot about its quality that I wished there was more of it~

Boltaire & Leonite in the foreground, readying themselves for a fight as they charge their fists with electricity.

They're both held by the hands of their creator, "Mother", who is looming behind in the background. Half of her expression is calm and with right eye (our left) closed, and the other half is her keeping the other eye open and putting on a more cold & stern expression.

#BoltaireArt #SNOUP #OC A silly little experiment I did with Ignus & Reine recently, showing what it'd be like if the way their eyes were drawn were swapped.

Mugshots of Ignus (tan-skinned young man on the left) and Reine (dark-skinned young woman on the right). Ignus's red eyes are always drawn in a fairly conventional style, whereas Reine's dark blue eyes are drawn in a more stylized way that removes the sclera (aka the white in our eyes).

The same picture as before, but now the way both Ignus & Reine's eyes were drawn are reversed. Ignus is now seen with more stylized & dark red eyes, whereas Reine's eyes are more traditional and bright blue.

#BoltaireArt #SNOUP #OC Gonna be a little while before this one's finished, but figure I could share what progress I've made since it's Mother's Day. A symbolic piece featuring Boltaire and his brother Leonite, both being held by the hands of their maternal (and increasingly dangerous) creator.

The two are being held in the hands of their creator, a goddess simply addressed as "Mother". While she's partially sketched out, a 3D model was used to help figure out the perspective since she's meant to look massive compared to her children. She's also seen with a duel expression, looking calm & visible while on Boltaire's side yet mysterious & intimidating on Leonite's side.
