“My name’s Evhen, and I need to know more about Karyna and Oleg. Did you notice that there’s something weird with them?”

She kept dancing, her head lolling side to side.

“Can you tell me how you got here? Did Karyna bring you, or Oleg?”

She rolled her head back, getting her mouth closer to his ear.

“Can you at least tell me your name? Are you able to tell me?”

She replied with a low moan, “Hhhhhellpp Meeeee....”

It was when his head jerked back in surprise that he finally saw the wires.

Evhen followed his dance partner’s eyes to where she was looking up. Above her were a set of thin strands attached to the ceiling, leading down into her shoulders and hands. Where the strings connected to the dancer, hooks were piecing her body. He could see her wounds festering around the base of where the hooks dug into her, with puss building up under the skin, ready to burst if someone tried to rip the hooks out.

Each strand had two small pieces of metal slotted into an ‘X’ attached to them just a few centimeters below where the string hung. Evhen watched the metal pieces on the other dancer’s strings pick up the vibrations from a subwoofer mounted where the wall met the ceiling, making them move in time with the beat.
