what UX research told ESPN that sports fans want the "looking ahead to the offseason" notification 0.02 seconds after their team is eliminated? Are there sickos who like this???

'pydistcheck' (github.com/jameslamb/py...) is a CLI for finding portability issues in packages (wheels, sdists, and conda packages). Stuff like "file is too big" and "compiled objects have debug symbols". v0.11.0 now available 😁 (example in thread)
Terminal output from 'pydistcheck', showing that scikit-learn 1.7.2 macOS wheels are 8.2 MB compressed and that that they contain 956 files.

coolest thing I learned today = wheelodex 🤩 Calculates "reverse dependencies" for projects on @pypi.org, similar to how CRAN does for #rstats packages! example: 13,000+ #Python packages depend on @scikit-learn.org (www.wheelodex.org/projects/sci...) source: github.com/wheelodex/wh...
Screenshot from wheelodex website, showing that package 13,595 packages on PyPI depend on 'scikit-learn', and listing some of the wheel files for version 1.6.0 of the project.

What tools do you use to inspect #Python and #conda packages? I'm looking to expand the big list at pydistcheck.readthedocs.io/en/latest/ho...
