Hey @joe.codes Congrats on #laravel/wayfinder's beta! We're curious, can you share any thoughts on why we might use this over @tighten.com Ziggy? Types are great, but Ziggy handles those too, right? @hailwood.nz and I are wondering what Wayfinder offers beyond that. Any future plans? Cheers

Great actually! I've wanted a wrist rest for my keyboard for ages... but the traditional ones don't work (for obvious reasons). Side note: the shirt looks awesome!

James Hulena @jameshulena.bsky.social · 27/01/2025

Thank you! @sitehost.nz The shirts and merch are awesome. I know they're mouse pads but given my keyboard I think they'll work awesome as wrist rests!

A photo of two split keyboards connected by a cable, each resting on a Sitehost wrist rest. The keyboards have unique layouts and keycaps, featuring custom-made designs and colors.

In New Zealand, we have a yearly fundraiser for LBCNZ, us firefighters climb 51 floors with all our gear. I am asking for anyone of you lovely people to get behind me. Every $1 counts. If you can't donate please share around. Thank you all! firefighterschallenge.org.nz/james-hulena

@joe.codes I really appreciate this! The hard work you're putting into the VSCode plugin does not go un-noticed. Thank you, can't wait to use it as my daily! 😁 #Laravel

Today I learnt.... figure out the size of your components before you print your project box....

Small 3d printed black box that does not close properly. Wires protruding out from where the lid is supposed to sit flush with the box. Lid and base are bent as the box is too full.

Man, that looks nice. Is it padded?

James Hulena @jameshulena.bsky.social · 06/12/2024

That looks awesome man. I'm reading through the site atm, pretty cool to see someone trying to modernise the way personel are managed on the fire ground. Yeah, I get that, we use it alongside inertia with react, came about because we need something with those features internally

While I was at @laracon.au, @jominney.bsky.social was showing off her awesome pockets! Pulled out this Laravel logo 3dPrint and chucked it into the crowed. It now lives on what my partner calls, my "nerd bag", Thanks again Jo, it looks awesome!

Hey @jetbrains.com I need to know.... Who's fault is it that @github.com copilot has very poor integration with your IDE's? I feel every other AI code assistant has much better integration 🤷

I've been working on my own project for a bit now, and it's coming along great! But I'm starting to realize why so many people have 150ish projects, started but never finished. Big projects are hard! and doing it by yourself sucks!!

Man I wish the public transport in New Zealand was as good as it is an Australia

James Hulena @jameshulena.bsky.social · 21/11/2024

We hit the same issue. We just decided to use the version with the MIT license. It's only the newer versions that are gpl afaik

James Hulena @jameshulena.bsky.social · 21/11/2024

Go on then, what's the worst that could happen 🤷‍♂️

So I've found myself going down the ergonomics rabbit hole the last few months. I've been wondering, what are people's opinions on trackpads? Do you use them outside of using on your laptop? I'm trying to find the best mouse for ergonomics. Already have the keyboard covered 😁

I never used Twitter for exactly that reason. But BSky actually makes me want to share stuff

Very nice! Wondering though can we get something in the gui to change the order of database fields, I get there's hot keys, but I find myself always forgetting them.

After seeing coderabbitai at @laracon.au, we at Webfox decided to add it to some of our repositories. @hailwood.nz prompted it to talk like a kiwi and use as much kiwi slang as it could. I honestly could not be more stoked with the outcome! It's crack up as, eh.
