Friday literature fix! New pub from the Interdisciplinary Movement Science Lab and the Bone-Anchored Limb Research Group led by Peter Thomsen-Freitas showing increased loading symmetry during sit-to-stand movements for bone-anchored limb users. @cuanschutz.bsky.social doi.org/10.1016/j.cl...
Highlights
•Bone-anchored limbs address severe socket-related dysfunction and impairments.
•Cumulative loads increase during sit-to-stands for bone-anchored limb users.
•Loading symmetry improves during sit-to-stands for bone-anchored limb users.
• Overloading of the non-amputated limb persists one-year postoperatively.

A perturbation is coming in the next few seconds!! Can you proactively modify anterior or posterior stability margins first? If yes, then stability margins may be feasible to improve with training. Link to @jbiomech.bsky.social pub (free through 4/21): authors.elsevier.com/a/1khrq4-6-l...

I am actively recruiting several PhD students to join my lab at UMass Amherst (you can apply as ME, BME, or CICS) to work on wearable robotics for walking/running and neuromotor control (primitives for action generation and perception)! Shoot me an email if you're interested!

Ok, Academic Bluesky is surging! Happy to connect with others out there! I'm currently a 3rd year postdoc at the U of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. I aim to improve our understanding of balance/postural control through fundamental and applied interdisciplinary biomechanics.

With many people joining, I thought a short intro post would be useful to help find people with similar interests. Please share! I am a movement scientist researching falls prevention & balance/gait control, training & stability in older adults. My recent papers: scholar.google.de/citations?hl...

#biomechsky I have an invite code to share! I also have two codes that I've "copied" but whoever I shared them with has not used them. It's been at least 1 month if not 2-3 (I don't know who they went to). So, I think I'll repurpose those, too!
