I’m not sure I can say more than what’s already been said but it’s critical that the Premier League hand out the harshest punishment possible to Manchester City, otherwise they and other clubs will simply be encouraged to do it again.

It is very funny that Abu Dhabi didn’t even try to do things above board. They saw an opportunity to sports wash their money and simply assumed they’d get away with it. Maybe they still will, but the fact they didn’t even try to build up a football empire legitimately still tickles me.

I think the biggest issue last night was that the City players finally faced a side that is extremely good at pressing in the opposition half. Too many Premier League sides are happy to sit back and win the ball in their own half, hitting teams like City, Liverpool and Arsenal in transition.

Ending the triple lock on pensions would be fucking insane in the current economic climate. The only way it would work is if all the costs driving up inflation were forced down. You’d have to start with fuel and energy, but it would need to extend to all utilities (including broadband) and food.
