James BOOran @james.strt-slct.com · 11/10/2026I saw the date of birth on their screen, same date and month, but 12 years older than me. I said “I was born in 199X, not 198X?” they dead ass looked at me and said “199X? Are you sure?” ARE YOU SURE? (1) It’s my date of birth. (2) Damn, I look old. 100
James BOOran @james.strt-slct.com · 11/10/2026The whole experience was a bit of a shambles, too. “Oh, your eyesight has improved?” (No, it hasn’t) “Oh, you’ve developed astigmatism?” (No, I already had that) They’d loaded the wrong person’s information. 100
James BOOran @james.strt-slct.com · 11/10/2026And yes, basically everyone I’ve moaned about this too has hit me with the “Should’ve gone to Specsavers” 100
James BOOran @james.strt-slct.com · 11/10/2026I got new glasses from Boots Opticians two months ago and I’m honestly appalled at how shoddy the build quality is on the frame, and how poor the blue light coating is compared to the (cheaper!) coating on my old Specsavers pair. I doubt they will last six months. It’s true what they say… 100

James BOOran @james.strt-slct.com · 07/10/2026And, once again, I feel for @joemerrick.bsky.social. He’s often just telling folks the facts and people give him stick for doing an honest job. Your site is amazing, I’ve been reading it since Gen 4 / more than half my life, keep it up 👑 000
James BOOran @james.strt-slct.com · 07/10/2026Call me a boot licker, I don’t care, but the way I see it: I’d written off any and all Pokémon re-releases a year ago, so to get FR/LG and some HOME compatibility that is on par with other Pre-Switch games. I’m happy; I’ll take it. 100

James BOOran @james.strt-slct.com · 27/09/2026Needless to say, I’m very grateful I remembered that Picross *is* a Nintendo thing. Only remembered this week, so now tomorrow we get this. 100
James BOOran @james.strt-slct.com · 27/09/2026Nintendo keep letting Jupiter use their Picross trademark - which is awesome - but I wish we’d get some Nintendo themed Picross games again. That said, Jupiter have done some awesome work with other publishers for themed Picross releases, as well as maintaining their Picross S series and spin-offs. 100
James BOOran @james.strt-slct.com · 25/09/2026I could drop Wii U and Nintendo 3DS into the mix tomorrow, but then I'd be chasing my tail on Wii U & Nintendo 3DS data, and feeling pressured to roll out more systems sooner - and this project only lives if I continue to enjoy it. 000
James BOOran @james.strt-slct.com · 25/09/2026Just to clarify what that means, that's 20 hours of research. It doesn't include any asset capture, image production, or post scheduling. James BOOran @james.strt-slct.com · 25/09/2026I've put ~20 hours over the last fortnight into Wii U data collection, and that is likely one of Nintendo's smallest libraries and the easiest to research beyond the Nintendo Switch era. 100
