Only 6 #MLR matches finished within 7pts in #MLR2026. On average, 2026 winning margins (17.2) were far above all-time (11.5) but the #ChicagoHounds dominance is definitely a factor. 22pt average winning margin it nuts! #MLRStats #MLR2027

2018 & 2026 are #MLR's 'smallest' full seasons in terms of games and teams but 2020, which saw 30 games played before it was cancelled, bucks this trend. Does a shorter season lead to higher scoring? Did RRS' implementation contribute to higher scoring in #MLR2026? #MLRStats

The 2026/27 JRLO Season runs from December 2026 to late May 2027, which pretty much rules Robertson out from returning to @oldglorydc.bsky.social for #MLR2027

Unfortunately, I don’t think so. The Former Sharks CEO has a new start-up so I’m thinking she’s jumping on the Sharks IG Page (which they already own and has nearly 30k followers) to kick-start a customer base

010

James Deeley @jamdelay.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

It might just be a company (Noldu) jumping on a dormant IG account with nearly 30k followers to kick-start a customer base. The link mentions both Globant ( #MLR partner) and the Sharks, and a quick google found that Noldu CEO is none other than Milagros Cubelli...

The Miami Sharks IG page appears to have come back to life today, with their first post (just a black square) in over a year👀 The link goes to a 'Miami-based merch and experiences company'. It's the #MLR off-season, let the speculation begin! #MLR2027

One, Glen Jackson, is probably one of the most experienced men in rugby, but new to #MLR The other, Cuca Cavalieri, has plenty of MLR experience and a reputation for turning teams around. How will they do in #MLR2027?

Pretty happy that I've managed to get this to work! There are still hundreds of Player Profiles on @narugbydb.com that are 'empty' but I'm hoping this will encourage me to fill them out as they pop up! Let me know who you get if you give the site a visit! #MLRStats #NARDB #MLR2027

A few notes from the latest Inside MLR: - Still at 5 teams for #MLR2027 right now. 6th team still possible, expansion is key. - Players are signing contracts right now, announcements starting soon? - Hints at pathway/feeder league to #MLR Definitely worth a listen!

Over the #MLR off-season, I'm building a database on all players (men, for now) that have represented the USA or Canada since the 2019 RWC This includes debut, last cap, total caps, status, etc. With the hope of creating @narugbydb.com pages for the national teams soon!

The #CaliforniaLegion announce the appointment Glen Jackson as Head Coach for #MLR2027! Jackson played with the Chief in #SuperRugby and was a Premiership centurion with #Saracens before becoming a pro ref in 2010! He enters #MLR after serving as HC of the #FijianDrua!

The Canada Men wrap up an impressive #PacificNationsCup campaign with a HUGE win over the USA in Tokyo! Ranked 10 places higher than Canada, The USA finish a disappointing September 0-2. The Eagles haven't beaten Canada since 2024!

These numbers are based on #MLR2026 players. All-time, they're even better: - 22 of the USA 23 have played in #MLR (95.65%) - 10 of the Canada 23 have played in MLR (43.48%) - 32 of the 46 players in tomorrow's match have played in MLR (69.57%)! #MLRStats

Not a great deal of change from last week for Canada to face the US. Foster DeWitt returns at hooker and Ethan Fryer is in for the injured Siôn Parry for his first start since 2024! In the backs, they field a half-back combo of Kilgour and Coats for the first time! #PacificNationsCup #CANvUSA

It's the middle of the night for fans in North America, in a 3rd place playoff game in a reduced #PacificNationsCup tournament that's out of regular test windows and kinda only serves as Nations Cup prep... ...But it's still Canada v USA, and it's always spicy!

A year ago, MLR was in crisis and there were stories all over rugby media about the URC expanding to North America. 12 months on, MLR has (somewhat) stabilised under new leadership, USAR and Rugby Canada and subsidizing overseas contracts, and the URC rumours have dried up!

James Deeley @jamdelay.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

Just as we see USA Rugby subsidizing some overseas contracts for their guys, #RugbyCA announce a partnership with the English Championship! Hopefully we'll see more Canadians getting decent game time in 2026/27, and hopefully we'll get a way to watch the season in Canada! #CHAMPRugby

All 11 of these programs have had players selected in prior #MLRDraft classes, so no programs are celebrating their first #MLR draftee in 2026. Only Lindenwood & St. Mary's College have had draftees selected every year, but Lindenwood still haven't had a 1st Overall Pick! #MLRStats #MLR2027

It's still pretty quiet on the Player movement front. I'm sure that'd change now that we've had the 2026 #MLRDraft, and when the contracting window opens up! LOADS of 1yr deals last season, so almost everyone is a free agent! #MLRStats #MLR2027

I'll probably have a couple of final posts about the #MLRDraft over the next week or so now that we know the selections, then settle in for the off-season. Hope you enjoyed the pre-draft content, kits/schedule next! (Player Moves will continue, of course) #MLRStats #MLR2027

It's pretty wild that all 6 First Overall #MLRDraft picks have been part of a #MLR team that's folded. Half of them have been a part of TWO teams that have withdrawn, and FOUR of them were on the 2026 @anthemrugby.bsky.social which we've still not got a statement on. #MLR2027 #MLRStats

020

James Deeley @jamdelay.bsky.social · 27/08/2026

Not many tighthead props available in the 2026 #MLRDraft! Historically, dedicated fullbacks are the least likely position to get drafted. Teams tend to pick players capable of also playing on the wing and use them there. #MLRStats

It's no surprise that California is way out in front in terms of 2026 #MLRDraft Prospects! It's a little surprising that New England seems a little low this year, and there's no-one from Washington state or Illinois. #MLRStats #MLR2027

5 potential #RugbyCA debuts including former #MLR draftee Bryce Worden, and 2024 2nd overall pick Neil Trainor is a non-travelling reserve. No Cali Martinez is odd. it's going to be tough facing Japan & Fiji without the likes of Q, Ardron, and Olmstead.
