Brian Milquetoast Callahan only went 0-4 once. He actually won a game in the first quarter of his first season with the Titans. They also won game 5 last year, so the 2026 Titans have a chance to start even worse than they ever did under that loser. But, hey, at least they got rid of seed oils!

The Titans are 6-32 since firing Vrabel. Currently mired in one of the worst streaks ever. But I looked it up and the Browns had a 2-36 streak over 38 games, so it could be worse. In fact, I think they went 2-41 if you extend that period ... so ... the Titans aren't the worst ever.

I remember reading Peanuts as a kid and thinking it was exceedingly dumb. Just ... did not get it. Still love me some Charlie Brown Christmas and Great Pumpkin but the comic was odd to me. I used to read the "funnies" for Calvin and Hobbes, however, which is the GOAT and still slaps today.

Really hard to go to bed when you're enjoying a book. I'm staring 5.5 hours of sleep in the face and I'm uncertain I want to go to bed. This book has really grown on me. Chapter 98 right now and still somewhat uncertain where this book ends ... or where the series will grow.

I think fantasy football would be better (balance and merit promoted) if managers who own a player get first right of refusal on a backup when someone is injured. If another team already rostered the backup, that's different. But if the player is a free agent, first dibs is granted.

Frankly, they're only down by 6 and so I get it but this particular set of losers (the Titans) should be going for it on 4th and 4 near the 50. It literally could be the best chance they have to score all day. That's not snark.

He Who Fights With Monsters I'm on chapter 39. My initial impression of this book was that it felt light. Things just kinda happened, nothing felt deep emotional or situationally. That's fine but not what I tend to go for. As it's continued, I've found that quite enjoyable. It fits Jason well.

Serious writing question for people who hate AI: How do you even transmit something you've written to another person without using something like Gmail that will feed your story into their AI training database before your story is even a thing and published out into the world? I looked closer at the chart (from Ben Baldwin) and I think his ESPN data was bad. Chart showed Packers up at 68% but they were at 9% on ESPN. Quick and dirty mock up (had to eyeball guess the PFF grades because lol at PFF) and the chart looks much better. Titans are the red dot, if you're curious.

My favorite chart from NFL week 1 is that someone charted OL win rate by ESPN against OL grades from PFF. The chart had a negative slant overall, which means that the higher the win rate according to ESPN, the lower PFF graded the OL performance. Gotta love it.

Can the Titans and the Browns just go ahead and play once or twice? Maybe the best two out of three to see who gets first pick and who gets to say they're not the worst franchise in existence? Then both teams can just get back to practicing to get better and both fan bases can stop suffering.

Up next on my reading list, it's probably He Who Fight with Monsters or Bobiverse. Any thoughts on that front are appreciated, especially in terms of how much they fall under a litRPG umbrella. I've seen claims both directions for Bobiverse. HWFWM seems much more clearly a yes.

I finished the Bloodsworn Trilogy by John Gwynne. Overall it's quite excellent. A number of interesting characters on both sides as well as a not-quite-so-clear good guy bad guy scenario. A few twists caught me off guard and I have only relatively minor gripes (a too-clean ending among them).

The 10 points scored by the Tennessee Titans this past week is the *most* points scored by a Brian Daboll offense in week 1 since 2022. 10 points in 2026 (Titans) 6 points in 2025 (Giants) 6 points in 2024 (Giants) 0 points in 2023 (Giants) It's actually a step forward over time.

I don't think a lot of non-titans fans realize (because why pay attention to this franchise unless you must) just how inept & embarrassing the franchise is. Among other things, during a celebration of CJ2k during week 1, they played a highlight reel set to the song "Loser" by Lame Impala.

This story does well at providing justification for slavery (those enslaved have superpowers that make them dangerous to normal people) to make characters feel other than purely evil when they enslave others. But it's slavery so characters feel other than purely evil for doing bad things to get free
