Our Costco has whole chickens for 99 cents a pound right now, so I texted a couple of friends to let them know. Ran into one of them at my kid’s cross country practice and we were chatting about it, and my daughter said, “IS THIS WHAT ADULTHOOD IS? YOU JUST TEXT YOUR FRIENDS ABOUT CHICKEN?”

This is so real. At 40 I developed a neuroma in my foot and it changed so much about how I approach the world. I think about my feet and how they impact my future so much more now. (Also: orthotics.)

It’s my favorite park but I vastly prefer it when they have a festival running. Without the extra kiosks it’s kind of bare. And it feels like more walking than the other parks because there are less things to stop at briefly (which is why I prefer the festival kiosks to the full restaurants).

Anyway my daughter has a (recently repaired) torn shoulder and my son has Achilles tendinitis and my husband can manage his own dang medical care. So instead of traveling to races this summer we are spending quality time in PT. Which is, frankly, much more air conditioned.

Hello from the physical therapist’s office. I live with three triathletes and all three are injured this season, which is super fun. If you have ever met a triathlete, you will know two things are true: 1) they’ll tell you they do triathlon at the first opportunity and 2) they’re the worst patients.
