400 years ago William Shakespeare wrote a play wherein a Lawyer, Thomas More, tried to reach the hearts and minds of the mob rioting against immigrants. Nobody embody the part like Ian McKellen! Shakespeare'words could not be more relevant! youtu.be/2l2RqzVG4ag?... #humanity #wordsmatter

Aikido is beautiful in that in it there is room for both empty hand work (taijutsu), and aikijo and aikiken. Here is a video of the 6 standard kumitachi with some variations, and it's really in those we can touch the common principles. youtu.be/JE2YlB2D-rE?... #Aikido #aikiken #kumitachi

As the rate of use of LLM (basically ChatGPT) grows exponentially, the rate of discussion and reflection of what that means for us should increase as well. Very interesting stuff in this week's New York Times Magazine share.google/xuYdlULWSoMB... #AI #LLM

There are laws in place of who can be picked to safe guard the qualifications of these people. Trump has now got rid of these safe guards, fired the previous VERY qualified head of JCOS, and appointed a MAGA hat-bearing non-active duty yes-sayer on this, one of the most critical of positions. Yes

I love Munch! Especially his wood cut prints... but sometimes, the actual wood cut is as interesting as the print. The layers of colors, paint, and ink tell a story of exploration, trial-and-error. This one is the only "perverse print" according to Munch himself. #Munch #oslo

Interesting! The article found significant positive effect of union density on wage increase among the lower half earners during the inter-war era (1920s-30s). Simply: Unions effectively compressed the income structure in the population. Opposite the increasing income gap we see today.

Why is BJJ so much more conspiratorial than Judo? Easy Almost nobody makes their living through Judo, so Covid restrictions didn’t affect them financially Almost every BJJ black belt thinks that he’s owed a full-time income, so they went full conspiracy to justify staying open during the pandemic

Also, if your plan for life is to make a living as a MA instructor, maybe vote for a future / society where you're able to survive even if you get sick or injured, and even if you get temporarily unemployed, instead of blaming those experts in charge with limit mass death due to a pandemic.

The guard rails against abuse of power by officials, such as POTUS, put into place after Nixon's - do people even remember him!? - abuse of power in the 1970s. They are called Inspector Generals. Trump broke the law by firing them. And he gets away with it. Again.
