Jake Johnson, MD @jakejohnson.bsky.social · 19/09/2025I enjoyed when the in-person feed cut out and it was just Dr. Meissner thinking it was his internet and was troubleshooting. We've all been there. 140
Jake Johnson, MD @jakejohnson.bsky.social · 19/09/20256-6 tie. 1 person on the phone disconnected and didn't vote. Chair breaks the tie as a no. Fails, thankfully. 281
Jake Johnson, MD @jakejohnson.bsky.social · 19/09/2025From the ACIP website. The current group did not follow this guidance. 072
Jake Johnson, MD @jakejohnson.bsky.social · 19/09/2025One member just suggested to amend this and strike "require a prescription." That would make the vote, "It is the sense of the committee that state and local jurisdictions should for the administration of a COVID-19 vaccination." ???? 140
Jake Johnson, MD @jakejohnson.bsky.social · 19/09/2025Again, this is so vague that none of the members understand what this vote would mean. In the presentation an example to be added on the VIS was the vaccine may cause birth defects (which is false). ACIP historically does NOT usually vote on this type of vote. 122
Jake Johnson, MD @jakejohnson.bsky.social · 19/09/2025lol. ACIP is basically giving NO guidance to the US population. Everything is "individual" risk. Practically speaking, this will cause fewer and fewer people getting vaccinated. 360
Jake Johnson, MD @jakejohnson.bsky.social · 19/09/2025It's conflicting when one theme for the committee has been individual choice / freedom, yet 2 of the votes (requiring a script and this complex sentence) are the exact opposite. 000
Jake Johnson, MD @jakejohnson.bsky.social · 19/09/2025This is the type of misinformation that is going to lead to decreased vaccination among pregnant women and result in more sick infants. WILD statement being made. The data is clear that the COVID vaccines are not associated with birth defects. 24513
Jake Johnson, MD @jakejohnson.bsky.social · 18/06/2025New ACIP group will be discussing thimerosal in vaccines next week. This will be a good litmus test for the new panel. (It's a preservative used only in multi-dose vials and shown to be safe in large studies.) 020
