Today feels like a good day to remind oneself that Jack Kirby was fully in his forties before he co-created* his most popular characters (Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, etc.) and his 50s when he got into his weirdest most interesting stuff. *The ratio of "co-creation" I think HEAVILY favors Jack.

Having a pretty good day today. Gloomy and rainy outside (my favorite). Did my cardio. Work stuff is going well. I'm making slow but steady progress on a *thing*. Yep. None too shabby. One must actively try to enjoy stuff when it's going well. It's super easy to only think about it in hindsight.

There's a lot of doom and gloom out there, a lot of folks in creative industries hurting, AI eating everything, etc. That said, I've talked to more than a few friends, in different age groups, who are independently deciding to become professional artists in one form or another.

Here’s the most incredible story you’ll read today. A small plane with four people aboard crashes in a field. Another pilot witnesses it. That pilot happens to be flying a bunch of skydivers. They offer to jump to assist, are given permission. The skydivers happen to be EMTs. Everyone survives.
