No one wants to report & expose clergy sexual abuse until holding it within is more painful than the reactions & judgments you will receive when you disclose. Think about that - think about the internal pain someone is in & the only way they can release is by disclosure

Fascinating that we demand alleged victims to provide evidence of abuse and expect no evidence back from the alleged perpetrator to prove they didn’t perpetrate abuse. Most victims slowly disclose details hoping they don’t need to disclose their full experience.

Sexual coercion: I think it would be terrifying to find out how many people have engaged in sexual acts when they did NOT want to because they felt: Obligated,manipulated or deceived; Saying no had too many consequences;Were forced or intoxicated negating consent & other coercion

If you are a leader in ministry & you develop sexual attraction to someone you are leading (power imbalance) it is YOUR responsibility to take that to supervision & get support to mitigate risk. You are not a perpetrator for developing sexual feelings, you are if you act on them
