Just had some time to check back some stats and tracks from #TLWHv2. The new map of my cycletouring rode tracks looks nicer in Spain :) A closer look here: u.osmfr.org/m/1370505
Map with the tracks I've roded while cycletouring. A lot in the Alps and Northern Italy, a divide from Mediterranean to Northern Sea and almost all southern Spain from Seville to València!

So heading back to Sevilla in high speed train (@renfeoperadora.bsky.social). Bikes allowed only if disassembled and kept in a cover bag :( Still, this S112 model train has no dedicated space for them and the large luggage area is unavailable, so it seems we have a new passenger on wheels 🙈😂 #TLWHv2

Now, time to come back by suburban train to València. Train accepts bikes even if not having specific spaces for them. Bit chaotic when we were 6 cyclist at the same time inside. No injuries nor material loses, so ok. #TLWHv2

It's a very lazy day. Mostly flat, but up and downs. This volume is coming to an end following a coastline that seems to be there and not, intermittent and mixed with farmers' and fishermen's houses, filled with silence since the tourist season here is over. Now, the last kilometers inland. #TLWHv2

Before getting to València, can't miss the Albufera and the pines from El Saler. What a beautiful way to get to a big city. It was a fast ride (~25km/h) on the main road just to get in time to the city for lunch but still enjoyed it! #TLWHv2

So yeah, I got to València safe, met my brother, had a burger, cleaned the dust and the remaining mud off the bike and saw the game. Busy afternoon, for good. It's a beautiful city and the goal of the trip is done! Tomorrow I will rest (deserved), but this is not the end of the trip... 😎 #TLWHv2

Having esmorzaet, kind of brunch brunch beloved by the locals, in Oliva, just few kilometers from the camping. Of course didn't have breakfast today 😂 It's a flat day that feels like the last one (or maybe it will not? 🤔), so let's take it easy! #TLWHv2

Had to pass through Altea without stopping, and the way to Calp was back on the N-332 in a quite high-traffic section (but the only way to get through), nice shoulder lanes overall though. Got some lunch at the supermarket and had it on picnic tables with sea view and pine shade. Luxury. #TLWHv2

This is Mediterranean Manhattan, yeah, Benidorm is impressive. Its size, the accelerated vibe of spending holiday here, the mix of retired people and tacky international lads. Can't be a part of all this, just have a quite overpriced horchata at the sea promenade, rest a bit and move. #TLWHv2

It's an absolute pity that Alacant is such a car-oriented city: many tracts of the seaside promenade didn't even have a cyclelane! And traffic is by far the craziest in this trip. At least, going north, a old-train greenway appears and many beach resorts area calm everything down. #TLWHv2
Traffic signs reminding that there's no way for bikes in the promenade... ...so every cyclist is forced to use this motorway-like road following the coast. Someone in the urbanism department here is still living in the late 20th century. The greenway has some tunnels and nice views of the massive buildings of the coast, peak of Spanish 'desarrollismo', likely. View of the shore once the beach resorts take their way. Light at sunset was nice and Benidorm and its hundred towers can be well noticed from far away.

The way from Elx to Alacant was an impressive cycling highway... But the headwind make it quite unpleasant. The constant airplanes landing, flying over my head, were just a warning of what to expect in Alacant: hords of tourists. Nice spots, but not this trip vibe. So I went ahead. #TLWHv2

Upon arriving in the Comunitat Valenciana region, the first stop of the day is Orihuela: hometown of Miguel Hernández, the eternal poet killed by fascist torture after the Spanish Civil War. His legacy remains though, and his home is now a museum that pays fair tribute to his memory. #TLWHv2

Did I say mud? Yeah, I guess the greenway didn't get great maintenance, the land is exposed to high erosion and all the sediments on the track right after heavy rain (that I fortunately avoided) make the rest. I don't love these dry landscapes but they are impressive though. #TLWHv2

Morning! It's a rainy day. Storms are lilely and heavy showers could happen. The good thing is that the ride will be entirely in a greenway ('via verde', former railway track) and in descent, so there are ways to improvise. And by now rain is far, so I feel like I'm loosing precious time! #TLWHv2
