Can bad actors hide their actions behind artificial intelligence?

The scientific and cultural wealth of humanity makes the training of artificial intelligence possible. Would this culture be possible without people's affective response to their world?

Can a machine perceive the world like a human without undergoing an affective response?
000
Alberto Delgado @jadelgador.bsky.social · 23h
With current technology, a machine cannot experience the world the way a human being does; it can be programmed, but that is not the same as having affective responses that lead to thought and action.

We represent reality using symbols, and when we combine them, we transform the planet. Artificial intelligence can also combine symbols; do we have a future with this technology?

AI and the end of humanity? Bad actors weaponizing human nature and exploiting AI for profiling and manipulation.

This comedy can serve as a metaphor illustrating that AI is a disruptive force that causes no harm in itself. The problem arises when bad actors use AI to exploit negative aspects of our human nature for their own agendas.

Individuals making independent decisions are the strength of democracy. In the age of artificial intelligence, profiling and manipulation exploited by bad actors undermine the very foundations of this political system.

Consciousness requires: (i) feelings; (ii) the need to understand these feelings and share emotions; (iii) a neural architecture that allows for reasoning. Machines are far from this for the time being.

Is it possible that political polarization, which results in the pendulum effect, is the outcome of the optimization proposed by market economics? Something analogous occurs in Genetic Algorithms (GAs) simulations where the population converges by optimizing a performance index.
