The only code Guts believes in is might makes right. If you get beaten, your deserve it. This gets put to the test when he makes himself leader. Mihri believes in honor. However, when she challenges a stronger enemy, instead of ambushing them, she begins questioning if it was worth it. 3/3

Erica and Berkant are the definition of getting results, doesn't matter it they leave things a little worst. However, Berkant is now questioning what kind of world does he want to bring Nefi back into. And Erica, the woman who known for gettings results, well she has some hard choices ahead. 2/3

#AwesomeCharacters Heiden would choose Honor. She needs others to trust her and she has the ability to do things by the book. Also, diplomacy demands it. Results may of kept Aldous and his sister from starving, but if he had honor, the community would of had his back. He focuses on honor now. 1/3

Alright I fleshed out some new named #AwesomeCharacters. Let see if I can give one of them this... oh, it's Heiden. Throwing or archery, on foot or horseback, it's Heiden. For range she uses a composite bow and throwing knives. Wait! Aldous is better with a bola, so... one point for him.

#AwesomeCharacters Heiden wears plenty of decorative items and she loves dressing up. However, when she on an adventure, her outfit is more functional (and I focus on the adventures in my stories). A decorative item she wears all the time though, is a dire wolf fur pelisse over her left shoulder.

It a good close 3rd. Not only can you picture the environment with the detail descriptions, you know what it means to Angie. Bonus, you can tell Sayan see it differently still, without going to their POV.

So I was looking for my humor, or how I shorten sentences, or my overuse of ellipsis, and I found this concentrated section. I try to write like the character acts, even in close 3rd POV.

Good. Not only could she get away, but she could be gone long enough to figure out a plan.

Although…

She lifted her tunic and gave a sniff. Yeah, she should actually go to the hammam tonight. But finding Aldous came first. He needed to know the cult was looking for him. Then again, he was with Marianne, who probably always smelled like summer geraniums. Should she at least go back and change in the dress she brought? No. This is about survival. Priorities.

She untied and mounted Sandy before she asked, “Do I smell bad?”

Her horse looked away uninterested and blew loudly through her mouth. A clear indication that the mare thought she smelled lovely, and that anyone was lucky to be in her presence.

“Thanks girl.” Heiden scratched her mane and set forth towards the herbalist’s land.

Ahh, I did thought you meant literally. But your description of it is great. There is an added layer on top where It does create a power imbalance between mentor and mentee, and that a problem as one of skill Heiden needs to teach if for Aldous to lead. (Also romantic tension)

(Oh, Bluesky is working again for me, it wouldn't let me post stuff for like most of the weekend). So here's a snippet where the training officially starts:

They gathered dead briars and old wood, building a fire outside the building, before leading their horses inside. Aldous was about to take a moment to relax when Heiden stopped him, “No. It’s time you learned how to swing a mace.”

“I don’t think we should do that tonight.”

“Because of what happened, it’s the perfect time.” Heiden looked down and gave a sneer at her leg, almost like it offended her. “I don’t known if I can protect you anymore like I have been doing.”

Aldous wanted to argue. He wanted to force her to have a break too. But there was the rational part of himself that knew he needed her guidance. “Okay. I’ll be your best student.”

#LitHodgepodge 6 Heiden serves two archtypes. She's a hero, but she is also Aldous's Mentor. Despite his protests, Heiden points out he’s going to have to fight, and teaches him how. She not a wise elderly sage, they are about the same age. And she will always will be much more competent fighting.

My favorite rite are scallops. I usually pan sear them, and wrap them in bacon. (I also usually mess it up when do it myself) Muscles are my second favorite. Just steam them in wine and butter till they open up. 3rd: Lobster. Love the taste, hate the mess of eating them. I get them cheap, though.

Actually no, at least for the ones she know about. She trusts his judgment and assume if he breaks a rule its for a good reason. He is her favorite monk. However, Aldous may of been at sword/mace point and threaten to keep some of his deeds quiet, like playing with a holy artifact.

#AwesomeCharacters So we learn about Godwin in flashbacks. He a cruel prankster, often saying one thing and doing another. He the Herald, the right hand of the Hierophant, but doesn't follow her rules or even Fulla's dogma. He's impulsive yet he can scheme for moons, or even years.
