I made this 6 years ago, so i think we can call it a theme

Spotify miniplayer with the new pay gate around the smaller sized players removed. Companies hate the web because it's open by design and putting things behind walls takes effort.

Found one on our Costco grape before we planted it. The govt agriculture folks were pretty upset with Costco, but v happy that we reported it and had double-bagged the vine for them. They came and got it the same day we called. My yard is now full of “GOVERNMENT INSECT TRAP - DO NOT DISTURB“ 😭
A spotted bug like a little torpedo of a cricket with shiny wings a light spotting sits on a grape leaf. It’s a glassy-winged sharpshooter, an invasive bug that harms crops; Costco sent them all over Northern California.

Would love to see "try the old ways" Was just cleaning up some 20 year old (!) hard drives and found some DHTML exercises including this *still-functioning* nested menu. The web is and has always been a beautiful organic goblin. cc @aaronboodman.com and @simonwillison.net

They’re all pathetic “what a weak man thinks a strong man looks like“ photos but I think the best is Rubio trying to be Clinton during the Bin Laden raid.
The famous Situation Room photo taken by Pete Souza, Chief Official White House Photographer, at 4:05 p.m. on May 1, 2011. The photograph shows U.S. president Barack Obama and his national security team in the White House Situation Room receiving live updates from Operation Neptune Spear, which led to the killing of al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden in Abbottabad, Pakistan.
Secretary of State Clinton holds a hand over her mouth in concern and concentration. A partial collage of the dozen plus photos Trump sent out while attacking a sovereign nation without declaring war. They universally look like you told a toddler to “look tough” but the bottom corner is Rubio, with the same hand-over-mouth position that Secretary of State Clinton had.
Cosplaying importance.

Futurama scene in which, during a presidential debate candidate Jack Johnson says "I say your three cent titanium tax goes too far" and candidate John Jackson says "And I say your three cent titanium tax doesn't go too far enough!"
They are identical characters.

Their heads have been replaced with effectively identical George Washington heads from the AI presidents page posted above, but they are AI and not... quite right. One is named "George Washihigton" and the other has been named "Wiche Meslington"

Two panels.
The left panel is of the outside of an arcade. There are at least five signs that say arcade with arrows and a “coffee inside“and “card kiosk this way” and “war games this way”
The right panel is a Far Side cartoon where “cat fud” has been poorly written multiple times with arrows leading to a laundry dryer. A cat is looking into the dryer while a dog hiding behind the washer thinks “oh please, oh please…”

“A teacher is worth $1590 — $795 on sale” is apparently a thing the Mars company would like to tell your kid’s teacher this year
The back of a Valentines themed skittles box features a card you can cut out for your teacher. The card says “ a teacher’s worth 1000 skittle packs. Consider this a start“ with a picture of a fun size skittles pack.Screenshot from a supermarket app showing that a full-size bag of skittles cost $1.59 and is currently on sale with “buy two get two free”

Every. Year.
A comic with two panels.
First panel has an engineer sitting in front of a computer saying “I think I will start advent of code“
In the second panel, the engineer has not moved at all and is saying “looks like I will have to develop an advent of code platform from scratch first“
In both panels, the “advent of code” is obviously pasted over the original comic.
In the margin there is an creator credit for twitter.com/vincentdnl

A megacorp's over-hyped AI getting fooled by a greenwashing ad from a fictional megacorp is great, BUT that the ad is from an episode where the ENTIRE arc is making up a flashy overhyped presentation instead of a product... makes this art. "Products are for people who don't have presentations"
A google search for Veridian Dynamics has the following "AD Summary": "Veridian Dynamics is a fictional company from the TV show Better Off Ted that is committed to saving the environment:
Mission: Veridian Dynamics aims to save the environment by making all of its buildings 100% green."

This links to a promo video from the show which is from the episode "Jabberwocky" where the ENTIRE episode is about making up a fake product and then just promoting it instead of building it -- partly because they're unable to get out of the way of the momentum of their own lie and partly because "Products are for people who don't have presentations"

No worries! It was a good walk down memory lane. Been a moment, and I should have doc'd it -- and now I have!
- Gets the branch list by name
  - `git for-each-ref refs/heads/ --format=%(refname:short)`
- Then for each branch found:
  - Find the ancestor commit where ThisBranch left BaseBranch
    - `git merge-base <BaseBranch> <ThisBranch>`
  - Get the tree ID
    - `git rev-parse <ThisBranch>^{tree}`
  - Make up a temporary commit with the contents ThisBranch squashed together
    - `git commit-tree <TreeID> -p <AncestorSha> -m "Temp <ThisBranch>"`
  - See if the temp commit contents was already applied to upstream
    - `git cherry <BaseBranch> <TempPatchSha>`
  - If the above output starts with `-` the branch is a candidate for deletion
