As a (once) Head of Student Services I can see both sides. Much depends on whether tutors choose and are trained for the role. Most provide great support, some don’t. If the proposed change is carried out sensitively it should work well for the students, but a good centralised service is costly.

In my early days working in F. E. I would take small groups of students to visit universities. In Cambridge I always chose Queens’ because the then Admissions tutor was Stuart Bridge, a very engaging speaker but importantly (to my nervous students) a proud Yorkshireman.

Midge and Dottie are 15 this week and these days can usually be found here. They were lucky to be rescued (separately) as tiny kittens. They were placed in a shared a pen at the RSPCA and have never been far from each other. #caturday

That won’t be hard WW I assure you! I’m not a map person due to M being a map obsessive (3 first edition maps arrived today 🙄) and always plans/navigates. Also M worked in Scotland, his parents were from Cardiff and Truro and I have an aunt in N. I. I’m very sketchy on the Midlands though!
