Biggest ding against the AC8 is my HOTAS setup just doesn't register to the game. Seems identical to AC7 in that it'll have to be programmed in manually, and idk where the config files are. Disappointing!

Hard to say, depends on financial situation, etc. BUT it's got 30 full missions, took me 19 hours to beat one playthrough, very replayable and has a big multiplayer mode I haven't tried at all yet. So, certainly a lot for your money.

Five brings everything together for me, Four has the best story, Six has the best missions, Zero has a lotta style, Seven is gorgeous but maybe the least fun missions/least compelling story

Ahead of Ace Combat 8's release, I feel like my potentially blasphemous ranking of the series (that I've played) is: Five > Four > Six > Zero > Seven which feels kinda nuts to write out but also the delta between the first and last on that list is tiny.
