I compared parity vs shiki and vscode output so I’m pretty sure it’s correct, but I’m only testing 14,000 angular files so there’s bound to be some missing edge cases and perf edge cases That being said, shiki parity isn’t the end goal and i found many bugs in both

As for angular highlighting, glad to make a PR if you’re interested There’s a good opportunity to do better than shiki for angular. Shiki does not syntax highlighting quite a lot. Here is a cherry picked example where shiki doesn’t apply highlighting on templates

I found a lot of areas where output is slightly different from shiki. It’s pretty non consequential most times, but it’s hard to know what’s a perf decision vs incidental vs simplicity vs unplanned, like regex is one color instead of many

I finally got around to spiking changing playful programming to twinkleplop, and wow 34 seconds to 700ms for around 7500 code blocks, and it was pretty trivial to add an angular grammar that looked pretty good Beautiful work, I really hope output is good enough to merge!

I’ve been working on a personal project with AI generated PRs, and it’s so bad to read. It’s better to just say “no description” 😵‍💫 It’s impressive how hard it is to read. Even if I say use bullet points, it picks the least important parts of the PR to call out

I usually go with hyperfine as well! On that note, do you typically find Claude helpful to find performance optimizations? I’ve found it not so great for my projects. Every once in a while, i throw claude at my codebase and it manages to make things that ran in microseconds take several seconds
