They've met at least twice and in contexts that make it seem like there are more. The vanity fair piece, in addition to the thing about them having dinner together, also shows them hanging out together outside an event to catch a ride.

So the origin of this, when Vance talks about "this guy Curtis Yarvin" is a vanity fair piece by someone who seems to have spent time with both of them. And it also includes an encounter with yarvin's gf who says she and Yarvin have to get going to have a "private" dinner with Vance

Different thing, but ain't it weird how WaPo has no qualms with making accusations about the intent of everyone BUT Trump? Can't be that this guy is independent; it's savvy political maneuvering. But trump saying he's big on blood isn't necessarily racist we can't know what he's thinking after all.
