I absolutely LOVE this. Christian Bale spent roughly 17 years fighting to make this happen. This week, his foster-care village opened in Palmdale, California: 12 homes built specifically to help keep siblings together when they enter foster care.

Almost HALF of the kids in the state are insured by Medicaid, including almost ALL kids in foster care. Who are we as a state and a country if we don't care for our kids? The cuts as proposed would be crushing. To suggest even more is just heartless.

The one thing that I know for sure that all of this chaos and turmoil has done is bring people together who would not normally have been brought together. We are building a community. We are building a resistance. We are building a rebellion. #MomSky #Resistance #Rebellion #Community

As I said in my #SMLVC2025 keynote, the loss of federal education funding will be felt by kids in every zip code of America: 11 million children in poverty. 7.5 million students with disabilities. 5 million English learners. 26 million kids who need federal support to thrive.

The McKinney Vento Act is going to be impacted with the dismantling of the Department of Education. Homeless children. Children in the system as well. The children relying on Medicaid, free school lunches while in foster care.
