My issue with homebrewing a D&D game is I feel like I need to be able to explain why a town exists economically instead of just dropping it on a map and now I've got whole fantasy supply chains that my players will never see cause the town is just a backdrop for their journey.

I was dragged to a Christmas tree farm for the first time and it was the most wonderfully bougie thing ever. Hot cocoa, petting zoo, tractor rides, shopping. When I was a kid we just chopped down a tree from a neighbor's land and hauled it back as quietly as possible.

Enjoy D&D? Try Solasta. I promise it is the closest you will get to a 1:1 D&D tabletop experience in a video game. It may not be as pretty as Baldur's Gate 3 but it's got a lot of heart and is worth it.

Once upon a time between 1978 and 2000, movies came on vinyl sized discs called Laserdisc, you had to take it out and flip it over halfway through the movie and depending on the disc format it could be up to 3 discs/6 sides long. And it was glorious.
