#WhatAGameDevLooksLike Sadly not at GDC this year as I have joined the ranks of Game Dev Mom and am taking care of an insatiable angry potato. I miss catching up with everyone, but hope you're all having a good time!

Yes! The advancing world is one of my favourite things. That plus an actual character arc for Ark? Perfection. Special shout-out to the mountain goat scene. That story beat lives in my brain rent-free.

I LOVE this game and still think about its narrative all the time! Wish more people knew about it.

I'd been a bookworm ever since I was 2, but it never occurred to me I could write my own stories until my 2nd grade teacher gave us a lined sheet of paper and told us to write a story. I filled up the page like it was nothing and kept having to ask for more paper.

Cool news! I’m doing a talk at GDC with the incredibly talented @zoeraecalamar.bsky.social! If you’re a student without game education available to you, or just someone looking to pivot in their career, we’ve got you! Hope to see you there.

An image that shows the GDC website, and the name of the panel, “Gaming the System: Creating Your Own Path to a Narrative Design Career!”

Neat!

It's cool how we keep proving over and over and over again that there's a significant market for narrative-heavy, character-driven, single-player experiences in video games and publishers just categorically refuse to believe us

I was a Firaxis narrative designer/writer and lost my job today. Any help sharing leads on new opportunities would be great! Over 3.5 years, I contributed to Civilization VII and Marvel’s Midnight Suns, helping turn maps, mechanics, and chaos into memorable stories. See my work benreeves.carrd.co

I use Down Dog! Great QOL features and very minimalist. You can choose to target specific areas for your session and save favourite poses that they'll work into your future classes. The subscription applies across all their apps too, so you can also do things like HIIT and barre.
