A very happy #bookbirthday to ASTRA FOX AND THE RISE OF THE WONDERWORKERS by Isaac Fitzsimons! ✨💚 "[A] richly imagined fantasy that engages with concepts of systemic oppression and labor exploitation." —Publishers Weekly awfulagent.com/ebooks/astra...
The cover for ASTRA FOX AND THE RISE OF THE WONDERWORKERS by ISaac Fitzsimons. The cover features a young Black girl in the center; she wears a yellow dress and has her hair in two long braids. In front of her torso, she creates illusion magic, resulting in a large golden spark effect between her hands. Directly behind her is the outline of an elaborate magical city. Adorning the cover are golden bird and vine motifs.

Twisted priorities so vividly on display - an SUV drives into an LA bus, kills two people, driver charged with murder. And all of the coverage pretty much is on the helicopter that crashed while covering the accident. All of the lives lost, from both crashes, ought be equal.

Heads up! @awfulagent.bsky.social is hiring a part-time royalties and data processing assistant! Take a look at the listing below! awfulagent.com/were-hiring-...
JABberwocky is looking for a new, part-time royalties and data processing assistant. In this role, the assistant will learn how to process the royalty reports the agency receives from publishing companies and gain a detailed understanding of the accounting that determines whether (and how much) a book has been successful.

The primary task for the assistant will be to review/input royalty statement data into our agency’s databases while working directly with the C.O.O. (Brady McReynolds) as part of a small team.

While the focus of this part-time job is data-entry, there might be more general tasks that the assistant is asked to help with at part of JABberwocky’s day-to-day literary agency business. But it is not guaranteed.

The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in the publishing industry, a strong eye for detail, and be able to work in our office on Mondays/Tuesdays from 10am – 4pm. As the assistant grows in their role, working additional days and/or more hours in the week would be possible.

The pay rate is: $27/hour.

TO SUCCESSFULLY APPLY FOR THIS POSITION: please send an email to brady@awfulagent.com with “Part-Time Royalty Assistant” in the subject line, attach a PDF copy of your resume, and include short cover letter that also mentions what your favorite food is.

We are hoping to bring the right person on board before the end of July!
