BBC television's Sherlock would make some pretty bad assumptions about me based on my front door lock.

Data centres make me want to apologise personally to William Blake for finding his 'dark satanic mills' line funny when I heard it as a kid. I'm sorry that 200 years later we're still finding ways to build things that destroy the environment, scar the landscape and exploit workers.

The creator crossover I didn't know I needed. Of course that's what Tove Jansson's Gollum looks like.

I was primarily involved in the resources for our research reserve (aka. "The bit of the library which really smells properly like a library"), which gave me an exciting chance to become more familiar with various treasures which I didn't know were right under my feet every day!

Is the fandom name for fans of EW Hornung's Raffles stories "The Pre-Raffles-ites", because it should be.

I'm going to apologise right now for all Beekeeper's Picnic players. In the game if you try to submit an entire beehive frame to the competition (rather than processed honey in a jar), it's treated like a very silly idea, but this show genuinely does have a whole category for that.

Malkin has this one, and ignored it utterly for two years before becoming obsessed. www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B09N... I think if I was buying one again, I'd look for one with slightly bigger platforms, or at least a bigger one at the top.

Sometimes I remember about the coquette aesthetic Hound of the Baskervilles (From Wordworth Editions) I don't need to own it, but it makes me happy knowing it exists. I hope it has made lots of Gen Alpha teens who love soft feminine aesthetics and gothic horror very happy.

This copy of The Picture of Dorian Grey just fell off the shelf in TKMaxx and hit me in the head. I think that means I have to buy it.

Watching Lindsay Ellis' Dolly Parton video (because y'know), and finding out that my Sawbones medical history podcast bandana which says "Pliny the Elder is my homeboy" is Appalachian humour that I was too British to understand. I've had it for over a decade!

I'm playing the DLC for Melody of Moominvalley, and boy I wish this eccentric red-haired girl would give me this jam jar so that I can organise a picnic so that two famous literary characters can share their feelings.

Going to take a discussion work to the public forum of Blue Sky. This would be a poll, but polls don't exist here, so you'll just have to imagine. Butter Mintoes - Yes! - Ew no - What's a butter minto?!

Front loading this game with people talking to each other in the void of space and liquid paint working perfectly well out there, in the hope that it'll clue people into the fact that despite having robots and spaceships, 'tis not sci-fi, 'tis a gaslamp fantasy.

When you're trying to run your medical practice but there's intense amounts of queer pining going on.
Screenshot of in-development game, with a sketch of a doctor's office.
A woman is in a bed, with another woman sat concerned by her bedside. They are looking at each other. On the other side of the room, a doctor in a severe dark suit watches. Caption reads 'Live Doctor Reaction'.

I think I found the grimmest hotel room in London. £40 a night in Kensington. No window, shared bathroom, breakfast not included. And yet... I mean I'd rather do that than a hostel, right?

Not the least obeisance made she; not a minute stopped or stayed she; But, with mien of lord or lady, perched above my chamber door— Perched upon a post of scratching just above my chamber door— Perched, and sat, and nothing more.

There's a gag in Chaplian's The Gold Rush where someone gets so hungry they start seeing the Tramp as a giant chicken. My initial reaction to this was "ah, of course, that old gag" before I realised this is probably the originator of the trope.
