I still think about Downpour, its rough, it was rushed, the ost is kind of poop and I don't like the weird approach to the endings that contradict each other but I love Murphy, Anne, the atmosphere and exploring a side of the town we are unlikely to see again.

Has anyone seen the hideous AI generated Fanta ad? Saw it in the cinema, blown up like that, I am at least convinced AI films are doomed because the myriad flaws of this parasite technology is very plain to see on the big screen. Nobody should be drinking Fanta anyway, but here's another reason.

Irish government did a similar thing ten years(ish) ago. It was an absolute disaster, free labour for businesses with little to no gain for employees. In many cases skilled workers with degrees were brought in to train people in their expertise and then let go when no longer useful. Evil stuff.

A terrible loss to cinema. Besides the films Paranoia Agent was, in my opinion, a television series up there with Twin Peaks. A subversive medium shifting masterwork. Like Ballard, Kon intuitively understood the shifting cultural psyche of the early 21st century.

Coyote vs. Acme is a wonderful film for all ages with a clear heartfelt message and a through line of actual satire that older audiences will enjoy. If you grew up with the Looney Tunes it's one to watch. It is tragic that this labour of love was almost a write-off!

I think the humour in Obsession feels organic, owing to the director's history it probably is, and serves to make the violent tonal shifts that much more impactful but otherwise this trend feels disingenuous. I come to horror to have a bad time, let me feel bad and sit with that feeling!
