I really enjoy the world, story, and characters. MOSTLY IN CONCEPT. The writing and storytelling in the game is borderline atrocious. I like what is going on but oh my god is it cringey and jarring constantly. That said I still like the main story, plus the side missions are interesting too.

Not to mention the game tells you constantly how to progress or tackle a problem as soon as you approach it. Also the game lets you buy an accessory that gives you a floaty jump like, as soon as you start the game? And it breaks so many puzzles?? Weird choice but ok.

Took a break from Octopath Traveler 0 and jumped into The Adventures of Elliot. And it’s… certainly a game?? It’s not bad. But it’s not great. But it is fun. It’s fun to play, and the menus, UI, and QOL features are nice. But the game is not challenging. Dungeons and puzzles are not exciting.

GAME, why would you stop my momentum MID JUMP ABOVE A PIT to show me “yay you did the puzzle!”

We chatted for a day, then they tell me that they still found me annoying and cut contact again. I didn’t know know I annoyed them to begin with so it just sucked. And it really hurt. It’s stuck with me since and I hate it.

It sucks the things that stick with us. I had a friend I really liked, I loved chatting and hanging out with them. They were worried about being annoying or clingy and I’m like no you’re cool, you’re fine. Then after no communication for like a year and a half they reach out again.

Hot take? A majority of tracks on an album should be 3-5 minutes. A maximum of two tracks can be 6+ minutes long. If a whole album is just a smaller collection of longer songs, it feels more like a commitment to make it through.

Octopath Traveler 0 is really good. I’ve made good progress in it but I still feel like I have a lot to go (I’m only 20 hours in). The main story quests are also REALLY good. They’re so dark & twisted, the villains are absolutely incredible. Anyway, Alexia boosting sounds like she’s gonna vomit.

Before my Final Fantasy binge, I did play the original FF7 back in February after I finished Remake. I was planning on skipping 7 this time around, going from 6 to 8. I popped 8 into my Switch and forgot that it’s a 7 and 8 double pack. That was enough to convince me to play 7 again.

I feel like 5 nailed the characters, world, and writing. It has a bit more lighthearted and comedic moments, but still very serious as the plot unfolds. It uses the job system in 3, which is the biggest difference from 4. So anyone can have any action. Very customizable and fun to experiment.

I’m going through the series for the first time and just finished 6. 3 was when I really got into it. 4 was where I went “Oh, this is actually a REALLY good series”. So it’s been cool following your posts about it :p I’d definitely recommend checking out 5 or 6. I lean toward 5, but both are great.

I just finished 6 and realized this GIF is the end of the credits 😅 All in all 6 was a fantastic game! I still liked 5 slightly more, but I get why people love 6. The second half was definitely a “do what you want with whoever you want” which is cool but ehh? It felt a little too aimless.

I’m still getting through Final Fantasy 6, and it kept getting better but then my enjoyment kinda hit a wall. The aspect of finding all my party members again just feels tedious. Plus it gives only a slight insight into their past, and a short closure for their arc.

It’s so weird how people think nostalgia means an old game can’t be good. Maybe people like old games because they’re, actually good? Some series I’ve only played within like the last 10 years. I loved old Zelda and Final Fantasy. I don’t like old Super Mario and Megaman.

I’m sick of AI. I hate seeing it on local business ads, seeing commercials or promos on TV made with it, “artists” that claim they make art, AI assistants pushed in every app. I hate that it’s here and we can’t go back.

One of my bigger gripes with music is how anniversary or deluxe editions are handled. I can’t stand when a second disc is padded out with crappy remixes or low quality live versions.

I’m so glad I finished Final Fantasy 5 before jumping back into Rebirth. The eccentric swordsman was just a random nobody to me before, but once I met Gilgamesh I was like no way. That’s the same guy. Also battle on the big bridge, top tier battle theme.

I finished Final Fantasy 5, made great progress in Rebirth, and bought 12 and Crisis Core Reunion. Regardless if X/X-2 has a physical on Switch 2 or not, I plan to have that soon too. Plus I got the 3D remakes of 3, 4, and 4 The After Years on my phone (I’m not tracking down physicals for those)

The controls felt super tight for me, but I played the Steam and PS4 versions. I know the Switch version had a ton of issues, maybe that’s one of them?
