the village where i grew up had a bonfire on may eve. every year my friends and i would attend and wait for midnight, and then begin celebrating my birthday instead (yep, i'm a may day baby! predestined to be into folklore)

A worm-like monster curled around several lit matches. The smoke is connected to their mouth

i must also share this meme my friend manufactured because i succumbed to my usual color choices even after tormenting her with alternate options

A meme depicting a man about to run over a kid; he's looking at his phone, which is displaying a plain orange screen. His rear view mirror shows his face and a cop car. A decor saying "i heart my beautiful rusty orange" is hanging from the rear view mirror.

think i'm gonna redesign my dragon again .-. it's always been difficult for me to settle on a design for dragon sonas. the sona i used on my previous account was 'finalized' but i never really felt like she fit me. i settled on a design that was fun to draw vs a simple one that actually felt right

on that note, if anybody has some unexplainable/paranormal/weird/scary experiences they'd like to share, i'm all ears (eyes?) 👀 (of course, if anybody wants to hear mine, i would love to share lol. just gotta figure out how to summarize them in this format)

today my coworkers and i recounted our paranormal experiences for like an hour and a half. i don't talk to some of them much so this was a nice experience (i usually stick to my own group). conclusion: a lot of weird stuff has happened, and not only to me!

I often wonder what happened to a lot of the people I knew when I was active on dA. Most of the ones I was actually close to are now inactive. I hope life led them somewhere nice. I hope they remember me too. I wonder if they would recognize me if they saw me now?

Went to visit our ex-roomie at the coast and the waves were very powerful (and the rocks were very sharp), so when we went for a swim I got thrown around like an old boat and now I'm scratched up and bruised as hell. But it was fun and worth it!

An update on my current condition (transcript in alt text). Thanks for reading! Art is probably gonna be even rarer for a little bit. If anybody has tips that could help me deal with this please let me know!

A week ago I was admitted to the ER due to a slowly-spreading facial paralysis. Since then it has enveloped the entire left side of my face, leaving me unable to blink or speak properly, as well as severely limiting my movement in general.
They ruled out everything else so the only thing left to diagnose it as is Bell's palsy. They were also unable to tell me why it occurred or when (or whether) I would make a full recovery, and I'm not knowledgeable enough to make guesses as of right now. So far there has been no improvement, despite the meds I've been taking.
I have managed to get a month off of work (both on the account of not being able to stare at a screen for 8+ hours and having to attend physiotherapy) and I've been more or less resting. The current heat wave is making this a bit difficult but thankfully we managed to obtain a portable AC beforehand and that helped a ton.
I've managed to arrange regular visits to a physiotherapist and I'm hoping this condition will improve soon. The sessions actually cost less than I expected! A rarity!
So yeah, I've been online a little less than usual but I'm alive. Not entirely well, but alive for sure.

There is an evil voice in my head that's trying to get me to re-read warrior cats... and I'm willing to hear it out. Teen me would be ecstatic, and I've only read the first six books. I wonder how far I could get because now I can actually read books in english
