Crikey! That prediction may prove to be a touch optimistic.

'My World' by The Bee Gees. Saw it on TotP aged eight, liked it, bought it. I bought the follow-up 'Run to Me' too.

Our 2nd single Really Stupid was released 40 years ago today. It got single of the week in Sounds & was named one of the 40 greatest UK indie singles ever by Mojo magazine in 2008. The vid was made on a budget of whatever a roll of kitchen foil + petrol for drive down to London from Cov was in 1986.

It was a shared house with two mates - so yeah, could've easily been mistaken for a student gaff!

Davyhulme, part of Urmston. Different place altogether. The bat in the photo was used for cricket!

Fair point, but the circumstances are so extraordinary I don't think it can do much harm.

This scene, set on 14th August 1984, in Tim Lott's otherwise excellent White City Blue: 'Only now did Nodge speak, having to shout over the engine noise and Morrissey singing 'There is a Light That Never Goes Out'. Almost two full years before that particular song was released.

Correct. As John Simon Ritchie once astutely observed: "I've met the man in the street, and he's a cunt."

Yep, and it's such an ill-thought-out line of reasoning, it beggars belief.

Sunday's events at Anfield should have no bearing whatsoever on the outcome of City's case. The flood of increasingly furious post-match hit pieces only serve to highlight a total lack of objectivity, and a rage motivated chiefly by the fact of City winning. If we're being honest, 'twas ever thus.

While journalists and pundits are losing their collective minds over Sunday's events, here's some rare insight from the unlikely source of Troy Deeney.

Steven Gerrard has so "come to terms with the incident that happened" to him that he can't yet bring himself to say the actual words. He needs to say "I slipped on my fuckin' arse..." and then say it again. It's the only way he'll start to heal.

The classic Twitter playbook. Say something completely ridiculous, then boast of 'triggering' people when called out on your nonsense. It takes me back, and not in a good way.

Ah you mean has he asked Imre (Twitter handle '@imrebanana') Varadi how he feels ahout it? :)
160
Tony Taylor @itstonyt10.bsky.social · 12/10/2026
You've no idea what you're talking about. The banana came first and was wielded as just that, an inflatable banana. At a later date it was dressed in a City No 9 shirt (Varadi's number), and thus the 'Imre Banana' moniker was born. Xenophobia my arse.

I just can't get over this clown's idea that the guilty verdict means we should suddenly stop chanting abuse at Gary Neville. An activity we've enjoyed for decades. Genuinely, it's the daftest take I've heard yet.

'...obcene chants at Gary Neville as he appeared at pitchside for Sky Sports'. Yes, naturally. Surely it can only be seen as confirmation of the beautiful game's demise when obscene chants are no longer directed at Gary Neville.

You absolutely did. You specifically told Alex, in admonishing fashion, that 'that attitude means you’re going to struggle to find support for sanctions that don’t obliterate the club'. Ridiculous, man.

Watching West at Winsford yesterday was interesting. A gaggle of 'schooligans' chanting 'Oh Manchester is full of shit', etc at us were moved away by stewards, but there were also grown men shouting 'Communists!'. As if that was some kind of insult. We siezed the means of production at half-time.
