I guess it’s because I’m not used to a group call in this context, but I just didn’t fully vibe with it. It’s just not as engaging when one or two people try to hijack the entire thing and not let anyone else get a word in. The Q&A section was less Q&A and more complaining for 30 minutes.

Finished the FND group meeting about 5 minutes ago. Some interesting things were talked about and some new perspectives about how things can work or not work. I was content to just listen to the professionals and write down relevant bits of information.

Just had the audition and it was pretty nerve wracking but good. I whiffed on a letters and numbers round unfortunately, but I got a couple of 8 letter words and solved the conundrum as well. If I don’t hear back in 8 weeks then I’ll have to try again next year

Sent in my self referral form, I had a choice of 11 different hospitals to apply for, but 9 of them don't provide neurophysiotherapy services. Luckily the hospital I visit most frequently does have those facilities. Now just to wait to hear back.

Had a message from my GP this morning regarding my recent hospital letter. I’ve been referred for a speech and language assessment, and I’ve been sent a link for self referral for physiotherapy. I’ve got to clarify it’s for neurophysiotherapy on the contact form.

Had to stop my gym session early, not feeling well at all. Similar to the other day, losing all strength in my arms and neck and feeling really dizzy. I’ve had to manually activate my pacemaker three times since leaving just to make sure I don’t have a seizure in the middle of town.

Just reading from a professional in this particular field that FND is not only treatable, but that’s there’s potential for a full and complete recovery, is amazing news. It now feels like I’m turning a corner with this whole FND thing and that things can and will get better.

She mentions that the prognosis for FND is difficult to predict due to various circumstances; whether it’s physical problems or something psychological. But a really positive thing is that because in my case it’s not caused by structural damage to the body, there’s potential for a full recovery.
